Quick bit of advice please, just recieved my new technium line and noticed it's only 0.255 thick rated at 13.4lbs though, didnt see the thickness when ordering just the strength.
Do you think it's ok or too thin?

drives me nuts the way tackle companies lie about BS. I would say as a rule of thumb:

0.35 15lbs
0.32 12lbs
0.30 10lbs
0.28 8lbs
0.26 6lbs

have you got some spring scales to test it on?

Not heard of Technium like that. Is it the regular, Invisitec or Tribal version and where did you buy it?

I'm pretty sure the .28 broke at 16lbs+ in the Tackle Box chart and the .35 at 22lbs+

I'll got out on a limb and say no way will 0.28 mono break at 16lbs.

I'd be amazed if it does over 12lbs

Have a read of this thread HERE

Shimano rate the line differently for the UK market than the EU one for some reason, the lbs doesn't match the kgs if that makes sense, that's why it's best to buy on diameter rather than BS, if you look on one of the UK stores listings that sell it you get a clearer picture i.e.

8lb: Diameter 0.260mm | Spool 1920m
10lb: Diameter 0.300mm | Spool 1300m
12lb: Diameter 0.320mm | Spool 1100m
15lb: Diameter 0.380mm | Spool 790m

Does my head this, mine says 1530m spool which doesn't add up either. Anyway looks like I've just spooled up 3 reels with 9 pound ish line ffs

I've just checked a spool of Shimano Technium Black (15lb) i have with some digital calipers.
And i measured it at 0.39mm, and im inclined to accept there will be a slight margin of error with my cheapo vernier calipers.
So 15lb Technium averages around 0.38mm as they have stated.

Actually you're partially right. The .28 was 14+, it was the .30 that was 16+

That's definitely the EU labelled stuff you have, it's 0.25mm rated at 6.1kg which is actually as you say just under 13.5lbs, but the Technium they sell in the UK is labelled so the 12lbs line is 0.32mm

Did I read somewhere chuffy you loaded this on to the ci4 5500 reels? Did you use the line reducers?

When I used it i had it on 14000s with line reducers

I used the original stuff in the tin quite a few years ago. I can remember seeing all the nicks in the black line, really highlighted it. I took some of the newer stuff off a few months ago, crap imho. I can't belive it's the same line. The old stuff was around £30 the new stuff is dirt cheap, didn't like it myself

Whether this is just me comparing it to Synchro XT I'm not sure but I do not belive it's the same as the original version, happy to be wrong
