Hi all,
Looking at booking for May next year and want to start a list of places to consider. I plan to trawl this while section to pick up on tips, but is there anywhere that fellow anglers would be happy to recommend for a mates 40th?
Ideally, we want exclusivity on a lake approx 15 acres in size with fair facilities (shower, cabin to socialise for a night off). We're hoping for something 3-4 hours drive drive the port so we don't want it too far. Good head of fish goes without saying, would like to in with a good chance of catching 40+
Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks

Most , if not all of the good ones are booked up 2 years in advance without this Covid-19 crap.
Good luck with your quest.

Few waters on angling lines books might fill your criteria only thing is may not be available due to can called bookings being rescheduled.

A group of us visited Lake Beauregard last year and highly rated it.
Really nice lake with plenty of features and a good head of fish, my mate had a 51 Common and I landed a 41lb Mirror in amongst plenty of mid 30's.
Fishing was a bit slow during the week we went due to the extremely high temperatures experienced and the resultant severe drop in water level that a lot of places suffered from during last years hot summer.
But this shouldn't be a problem in May (we went in July!).
If they have any spaces in May is anybody's guess but if they do, I can highly recommend it...

Thanks for the tips. Are people anticipating lakes to be more rammed than usual?
There are a couple of places mentioned so I'll have a good look, thanks. Any others would be most appreciated.

Its not that they will be rammed more than usual its just as Scar mentioned most good
lakes are booked for at least 2 years in advance.
The lake I was supposed to be on this week I booked 3 years ago!
Added to the fact that a lot of fisheries will now be looking to move bookings that cant
be fulfilled now to other dates including next year, Im guessing places may be harder to get.
Speak to Carmen at Armfield Angling. She has always helpful and will get back to you.

Bay lakes nr Vitry lake 2 would fit the bill
Or Les Saisons across the road under new ownership and a lot of work being done on it
4hrs from Calais

Chateau Moulin. Not been myself but a few of my fellow Cornios have been and loved the place. Ian from Cornwall Bait does trips there (once this poxy virus is out of the reckoning).

Les Saisons is 3 hrs from Calais and very weedy. Fished it last year. Wasn't really 5 fishable swims because of the weed. Previous owners only allowed 4 on. Might be different now and the new owners live on site which could put people off

Etang le Fays meets all your requirements and is a top venue. Give Mark a ring and I feel sure he will be able to sort you out.

We have fished Les Saisons for a few years since 2012
Paul used to let up to 5 anglers on agree it got really weedy last time we went you couldn't fish beyond swim 11
Water was well down you were fishing in a couple of feet in most swims
Lets see what the new owners do with the place as it did hold some cracking fish 👍
Ps never done the trip in 3 hrs 😉😉

Not sure about lake size but utopia would house 5 people comfortably with plenty of room for each angler!
Lovely venue and only 2hrs from Calais.......
