Just a quick question. I've got a silver hip flask. But it needs cleaning out. What's the best this to clean it out with ? I.e clostic soder ? Or so. Any info be good thanks

Same question I was asking myself when I got mine, think I'll be using something like an egg cup full of neat bleach topped up with cold water, then left over night - drained and then left with water in for a while with the top off.
~ Mines Stainless thou, not sure if Bleach reacts with Silver ???

White vinegar, equals amounts of lemon juice added to hot water.

Bicarbonate soda, good for descaling kettles too
On another note, what's the plan with the hip flask, warming up now, no need for the brandy

As Scozza says , I clean mine with bicarbonate of soda , **** putting bleach in it

Several rinses with boiling water and then add some Milton's Fluid and leave it overnight. If it's good enough to sterilise babies bottles, it's good enough for me. I worked in the Chemical Industry for many years and Caustic Soda isn't a good idea, especially if you get a bit in your eye's. Bleach is a maybe but it does take ages to rinse the stink out.

I always descale my kettle with distilled white vinegar and it work a treat so can't see why I won't work in the hip flask 👍

Sloe Gin is nice. Mate makes his own, usually gives me a bottle, really nice, sweet and and smooth
