Thinking about upgrading to a bedchair/ sleep system and retire the 20 year old bedchair and sleeping bag combo. I dont want to be spending a fortune and ideally wont be buying second hand - I know only too well what goes on in carp anglers sleeping bags!

I can recommend the Nash Indulgence, I managed to pick up the 4 season version for a little under £300 after a fair bit of shopping around, it really is comfy and warm>

The problem with beds is what one name likes another hates. Best thing you can do is go and look at a few yourself. I have the nash, had an original ss for many years and liked it so have bought another, some say they ruin your back but I've found the opposite to be true

IMO...avoid the Nash systems like the Corona Virus...unless you want a totally ruined back. They're fine for young flexible whippersnapper snowflakes but as you mentioned your 20yr old bed/bag combo I'm guessing you miss that category a tad 
. There's a very good reason Nash are selling those beds for that price point compared to original price.. As others have said best thing is to try a few out in your price range . The Trakker range have a good following and dont appear to have the faults that others do..lack of lumbar support/too MUCH lumbar/back support and are uncomfortable..prone to welds failing on the frame.
the RLX range are worth a good look Fox have a decent following too..Levelites i believe are the one to consider. For complete systems the Solar takes some beating..or so ive heard

In my Nash indulgence 5 season 3 legger as I write. Windy, cold and wet outside the brolly. Very comfy. Very warm. I'm 64 with arthritis, this bed makes session fishing a pleasure again. Long wide and firm,(the bed!!! 😐 with plenty of options for times of year. Just occasionally tighten and adjust as needed.
It is what it is, so big and bulky when fully loaded and heavier than I might like but. You want this comfort and luxury, there's a price

Ill go along with that , I have the SS3 Air frame ,wideboy 5 season , fantastic bed ,only downside with the extra quilt on is weight

Cheers lads, thanks for the feedback. Looks like the Nash systems get the thumbs up. I have seen the Cyprinus systems and they look half the price of the Nash...however I could do with not falling in to the 'buy cheap, buy twice' situation

I'm used the TF Gear Flat out bedchair and sleep system. Really good for the price in my opinion. Tightened the elastic and it's great for my back

Im a bed fanatic Ive had pretty much every indulgence over the years both bed and sleep systems and I've also had a few levelites in recent times both the normal and now the ELS version and Ive never had any issues with any of them to be honest.
Im 6'3 and 17 stone and Im always chopping and changing so feel like I'm well versed in this matter.
Having both ss and be and bag combo I actually prefer the versatility of a bed and bag combo as opposed to SS but its an individual preference ultimately
I currently have
A Nash wideboy sleep system the one with the lumbar support system - mine is the 3 leg version (Ive had 4 legs in the past and don't see the benefit if im honest) I use this for my session fishing I have the single layer version again ive had the double layer but thin its overkill for 80% of my fishing and Ive purchased the winter shroud which effectively does the same job as the 2nd layer and allows me the versatility to chop and change I do like the eideboy as its luxury having the extra room and on the newer ss like this the internal baffles in the bag hep keep the warmth in especially if like me you tend to sleep with the bag open.
Its luxurious plenty of room and the soft mattress is very comfy if I was to pick fault it would be that im not a fan of fleece lined bags and its obv a heavy bit of kit but that aside cant fault it.
I also have a Trakker ELS Levelite I upgraded from the standard version as bed sag infuriates me and this bed is the one I use the most mainly due to weight, comfort and the majority of my sessions being 12-24 hours I use this with a fortis Snugpak bag, I have to say this is a brilliant bed folds flat is comfortable , lightweight and closes flat with the bag attached ill add the bag is a great bt of kit with two layers and for the wight to warmth ratio is perfect for me
Ive also got an old indulgencemk3 with a Nash sub zero bag this tends to get used when my lad comes or friends stay at the house its a solid combination Ive added some tension strap to eliminate sag and although heavier than the ELS I do like the fact the legs extend higher
So in closing ive had indulgence beds for the last 10 years and haven't had issues BUT my favourite is the trakker els levelite. Good luck with whatever you choose

In response to the below I had a Nash airlite in the past basic 2 leg bed but very light it was rebranded as the scope airtight recently and has now been relaunched as the scope op bed that folds in 4 places to go under your arm not seen one but that may suit what you are after

Avid Benchmark Lite's supposed to be good. Tested it at Zwolle. They're as comfortable as the heavy ones, but well under 10 kgs. Wish they had it a few months earlier. Would have definetely bought that one in stead of the heavy one.
