Has anybody any experience of using both for a direct comparison? Any thoughts much appreciated.

Very very unlikely mate. Don't think many X boats available or brought
Can only say my RT4 is the best bit of kit I have ever owned and won't be swapping for anything else unless a Gladiator RS or V drone came up...

Thanks for the info mate. I know sweet f.a. about baitboats; literally just starting out looking at them. I'll check out the other two you mention also.

X boat for me. To many Rt4 being sent back for warranty repairs. Ok so they pay shipping but the xboat you can get into and fix your self or add extras yourself. If you struggle you can get it sorted at a hobby shop.

Xboat is untested hardly anyone seems to have one so its a risk.Sending a rt4 back isnt a problem 3 years warranty is very good they arrange to pick it up and return so its hassle free and the vast majority of people have had no problems whatsoever.It goes without saying with the nature of what it is and all the extra gadgets there will be odd problems.Not all but some of these have been user error we have had a few obvious ones on here.Dont see the problem with their excellent no quibble warranty .Its the most reliable and best boat i have had by miles.Had mine around 3.5 years and yes it has been back i broke my underwater camera totally my fault they picked it up repaired it and received it back no charge 10 days later.Also i have broke an ariel and lost another and received 2 new ones free.The only fault with this company has been communication in the past but once you do get in touch with them they do whatever it takes to put right..When i first got the boat after a few months one of my batterys wasnt lasting very long dont know if it was a fault or i had mucked it up running it down to low .When i rang them there was no send it back and we will look at it they just sent me a new one.

How can anyone say the X boat is the best without having used it and based on a few issues on the many tens if not hundreds of RT4's being used in U.K. 🙈🙈🙈
As Essox has said reading the problems most not all were due to people not understanding how to use em properly and expecting answers to problems within an hour...not reasonable IMO
