Has anyone used one of these yet?

Apparently creates a protective "dome" around the device.

I got one last summer. Found it to be excellent.

My mate said he struggled to charge it off a normal battery pack but as I mainly fish single nights, it's never been a problem for me.

Not tried the Flextail myself but bought one of these (link below) as it was recommended. Wish I'd have bought a Flextail as it looks more portable. Thermacell

There looks to be a few Chinese copies of these aswell.

I'm thinking of trying one of these knock off jobbies which are probably just the same thing

There was a video on YouTube where they reviewed it they didn't rate it much they didn't think the battery was powerful enough to heat the pad to make it hot enough too melt the tablet.
Unfortunately can't find the video.

I got one early last year dose work keeps them away 100% no smell
Simple to use only trouble is that it only last a few hours so have to charge it up often
So much better than candles an alot more safe

Similar findings to you.

I have it on through the evening to keep them away, then when I head to bed I close the mozzie mesh on my brolly

One thing Inhave experienced is that our Louisiqna mosquitos are totally unaffected by Thermacell.
Hopefully the Flextail would be better, but I believe they use the same active ingredient.

Lifesystems jobbie with integral fan is pretty good - v compact and batteries last way longer than expected; I keep the insert card topped up/doused with mozzie spray which seams to work and is cheaper than refills

Might be a long wait. Think they are coming from China.

Mine turned up yesterday. Nice and compact. I like that there is 4 different light settings. The one on my wolf Mozzi-Zappa was just a little too bright. Will see if it keeps the bugs away from me in a couple of weeks.

Mine arrived yesterday as well....first impressions are very good!

I have been using the Thermacell Backpacker which is OK so will be interesting to see if this is an improvement.

Plus the 3 different settings are a good touch. Ill just be using mine on 'Tent' as this saves massively on battery life etc. apparently.

yes mine arrived yesterday gave it a test on the highest setting and tested the temp it got to 300f only time will tell if it works, but i love how compact it is and the fact it came with a case. The only thing that throw me at first is once you choose your setting the green, orange , red light does not stay on but then I noticed the red flashing internal light.

thinking of getting one of these , how are people finding them , do they work ?

Tiny version arrived on Monday just in time for Tuesday Wednesday nights this week.lasted both nights probably 16 or 18hrs with battery left. I hopefully turned it on when the first mozzy turned up and the f####r was circling around the device. I put it on position two for five minutes before turning it back to position one and didn't see or hear another one inside the bivvy once it was up and running on either night. I have been using citronella up until now with much less of an impact on the mossies. I just looked and the candles were £1 each and sometimes I use two so it won't take long to recover.

When I go to bed I close my mozzi door and turn on my old Maplin mozzi zapper that kills anything inside the bivvy. So that's not a problem.
In the summer I don't like going to bed early and often sit outside and stay up until after midnight..
I'm after something that will repel them rather than attract and kill them
Will a Flextail or any another product do this while I'm awake?
Size of product isn't too much of a problem but I don't want to pay a fortune on tablets

Thanks , glad it worked for you , was a bit unsure after reading the mixed amazon reviews,
Still don't understand why the lights combined with it , thought light would attract the little vampires ? To then repel them again ? Going next week and seem to be getting more attractive to them the older i get !

To answer my own question 🤦‍♂️ , quick google & it seems they're almost blind and are attracted more by heat & co2 . Going to bite the bullet & get one , will report back , if theres any blood left in me

is the consensus that the flextail is the one to get or is there aan aftermarket version just as good?

sorry more questions ! can you use this in the bivvy or would it have to go outside door , says it has 3 different settings ,camping mode,outdoor mode & super mode ? camping mode would lead you to believe you could use it inside , yet questions and answers page on their website someone has asked "are these ok to use inside a tent or trailer " flextails reply was "yes it can be used , but please do not use it in an enclosed space" not exactly conclusive ? they must be talking about their own repellant mats as well , which i cant get at short notice . dont really want chance cheap amazon ones , i mean what exactly would i be breathing in ? more concerned as my 15 yr old lads coming with for the week and he suffers from asthma . rather put up the little red spots on my arms and legs than an involuntary lie in ! can anyone shed any light on this ,cheers

I didn't use the light. They are switched separately and to be honest didn't even try it.

I've got the lite version and have it on the lowest setting inside my bivvy with the door open. No noticeable odour from my Ali-Express tablets and No Mozzi's in the bivvy at all.

used my tiny flextail for fiorst time at weekend and i had it on the orange light as open fronted bivvy and used tablets - didnt seem top last very long maybe 4-5 hours anyone else have any thoughts as probably user error

I bought one of the cheapo versions, £10 with 28 tabs from ebay.
Just plug into a power bank USB socket.
I have not tried it yet, but it should be fine.
Has anyone tried giving the used tabs a squirt of deet free mozzie spray (incognito) and reusing.

Incognito spray no longer works here, I bought the Nitecore Emr5 last week and I was mosquito-free all weekend, on paper it says it works for 6 hours but from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m I didn't have any mosquitoes, 2 days ago used the Vapone pads and I had mosquitoes, yesterday a Nitecore pad and no mosquitoes


My Nitecore pads have been used up ,the new ones will be delivered on 18/08, I bought a pack of Flextail pads, these will arrive tomorrow, hopefully they also work as well as Nitecore's gonne use them this weekend
