I have the trakker oval sleep system and I just cannot get on with the thing so much so I've gone back to using my old knackered bedchair instead.
I've decided to get the solar c-tech. I think It's been out for about 5-6 years now so I was wondering if anyone has heard on the grapevine if there is a new version in the works or not?

I have heard they are working on a new one,not sure how can improve this one tbh.Tackle Tavern have got them discounted at the moment and you get another 5% off if subscribe to their newsletter.You can normally tell if new one being released when get good prices on current model,Trakker are doing it on the Tempests now with the wrap deal

Would I be correct in saying that the sleep system version only comes with a 5-season bag attached ? If so maybe a newer version would have a 3-season attached. Me personally I like a 3-season attached with the option to add a thermal cover later in the year like my flatliter . I'd be very interested in this as I'm told they are extremely comfy .

Id say its more like a 4 season, and then the cover. Its far too hot for this time of year. I did ask on one of their instagram q&as, about a 1 season summer bag, which they said they was looking into, but nothing bas ever come of it. Unless the new bed will have more bag options, and no doubt wont be backward compatible

Picked up a Solar at the beginning of the season for £250 new - the standard size is perfect for my fishing and def comfy / well made; my only gripe is even under max compression it doesn't fold flat with a Gardner Compact Bag / Quilted Goretex cover so when its on the barrow you need to load it carefully . . .

Can just about get it flat as the sleep system, but that lasts about 5 secons as the design of the retaining strap is a bit naff. My old fox flatliter packed away much better

That's what I've gone back to at the moment the flatlighter mk2 but it's seen better days. I can't bare the trakker oval the narrow head is a nightmare.
Suppose the good thing about the solar one not having a new version since it's release is it must be damn good as they can't think of what to upgrade

Wychwood Tacticals do fold flat with the same bag / layers on! Crappier build / dodgy adjustable feet / not as comfy / a little too big (standard) needs a SIM but a LOT lighter!

My mate has an older one than me and the zips are totally different. The old ones break. Newer ones are all good.
Other than that they look the same

I had the c-tech bedchair, comfort wise best bed by a country mile I've ever had. There is though one big negative for me and it's that suede outer padding. It's luxurious yes, looks the business to but when you've had to go out in the rain and/or you've got to sort your rod out you end up sitting on it and once it's wet it stays wet, not much hassle in summer but in early spring and autumn it is very much an issue.
Sort the material out on that to a quick dry / wipe dry and I struggle to see how it can be improved upon and would get one asap

I use a fortis bag on mine left on all year round with a sim, I can also get a pillow and a throw in in the winter on it and I use and have used on all my bed chairs a webbing strap to get it as flat as possible - cheap as chips and does the job

I use Fortis bag,cover in winter and sim.I can get mine flat enough but not if I leave my pillow in,I do use a really thick pillow though

Agree with the outer padding comment - also the mesh inner 'eats' boilie crumb (as it does on the SP C Tech chair) which makes it a mouse trap over winter in storage . . .however in terms of the bed perimeter getting damp nothing that a goretex cover with a decent skirt wont sort - always use one for this very reason all year round!

Could you leave the 365 bag on and it fold flat enough to put stuff on it when on a barrow?
