Can anyone recommend a good coolbox for longer sessions say 5 to 7 days? Something that's not got to be hooked up to a power supply?

Use the search function on here, loads of threads on this topic but I'd recommend the Icey Tec box. Pricey but good bit of kit that I use for long sessions abroad. The Yeti boxes are more expensive again but have excellent reviews.

I did try searching coolbox mate nothing came up? Maybe user error?
I know I'll pay for one but I don't mind as I feel it's an investment to be honest.

There's loads of posts on here fella about cool boxes, in fact I remember reading a few different threads when I was deciding which one to buy.

Anyway, I'll start you off. After trying a few other boxes I gave in and bought this 40L beast from Icey-Tek. I use it for 4-5 day sessions, it came along on half a dozen of my sessions last year and each time it came home with ice inside, and there was a few trips where the sun was cracking the flags.

I paid about £150 for this when Icey-Tek did a discount weekend. This will last me a lifetime and I won't ever need to buy another, but you do get what you pay for.

Cheers for that, ironically I stumbled across a post of yours after doing a Google search in the Icey Tek boxes, not sure why I couldn't find anything when searching on here though?

Yeah to be honest I'm liking the look of these, don't suppose anyone knows to a valid discount code on at the moment?

second the Icey-Tek, although I've got the smaller 24ltr one which is perfect for 3 to 4 nights, bit smaller and a bit cheaper too!

I'm torn between the 40 & 55 liter tbh.

The 40L sits in my front car seat, it's a beast and not exactly the lightest bit of kit either. Definitely have a think about the size they are bigger than they look on a photograph.

Have a look at one first if possible as they are absolutely massive. They even tell you to check the measurements on the website before you order as they get loads back when people see how big they actually are when they arrive. I sold mine straight away when it came and i seen how big it was and got a yeti. If your not bothered about the size and weight though you cant get anything better.

Yeah I had seen the message, maybe go for the 40liter then 😉

👍🏻 even the 25 litre is huge. Its why they are so good though as the insulation in the walls is so thick. The other thing that put me off is there not very tall so i couldnt stand big milk containers upright in the 25 litre where the yeti will hold them as its a better shape being taller and not as wide and will also go in the footwell in the car where the 25 litre icy tek wouldnt.

👍🏻 get yourself to the gym for when it arrives 😀

I have the 40 litre and I bought the padded seat also .
Have used it in France a few times in August when fishing for a month in over 40 C heat and it performed very well .
Obviously keep opening it to a minimum helps but I was well impressed .

Absolutely agree with that, you'll need arms like popeye once its loaded up, you'll be glad you didn't get the 55L .

It's arrived and looks great, looking forward to using it in a few weeks.
