Hi,
Looking for a new Bivvy this year. Looking at either the Fox Frontier, Aqua Ultralite or the trakker tempest bivvy. Looking for feedback on each if possible.

I have owned Tempest brolly v2 and the bivvy v2 and Ultralite.I love my ultralite but its not a very big bivvy at all but that is not what I wanted,out of the 3 you asked about I would go for The Fox Frontier X.It has a small footprint but loads of internal space,it gets very good feedback and I know a couple of guys who have switched from tempest to the x and wouldn't go back

I haven't used a trakker bivvy so can't comment on those, I do own a frontier and i'd recommend it, smallish footprint but with the flat back you get plenty of room in front of your chair , which to be honest that's where you'd want the space so you're not wasting any behind the chair. It is quite heavy but you can get rid of a load of pegs that come in the bag as standard and groundsheet if you don't use one, once it's on the barrow it's not that noticeable to be honest.

I've had a few bivvies recently and now have the Frontier XD which isn't the lightest but apart from that it's brilliant. My mate has a Frontier X and there isn't much difference in the footprint compared to the XD but there is a noticeable height difference which is great if you're tall, old and not very flexible like me

I've used tempests for the last 4/5 years but last year I fancied a change so went to for a frontier X and I honestly love it, not had a problem with it and really love it. I genuinely won't go back to a different bivvy again (well until I fancy a change lol) like mentioned below by brads it has a flat back so you can make so much more use of the space inside it feels huge inside

I have the Frontier XD and its pretty good to be fair. 1.75m height, square back so you can get your bed chair right into the rear of it and the windows all zip down, storage pockets in each corner and then throw on the wrap and you can if you wanted, get two bed chairs down each side. I do like it. I'm not sure I'd cough up another £500 notes for the Gazebo extension though, what a rip off that is. Come on Fox cut the price of that in half and you might sell more than 2 a year

I've got a Tempest V2, a Pioneer 150, a new Ultralite 100 and the original Ultralite . . cannot comment on Frontiers
If you don't carry mountains of gear the Ultralite is very nearly a perfect bivvy IMO. Quick erect / small footprint / excellent head height / permanent twin skin (with skull cap) - for 48hr sessions its a great product. You can also fish it like a brolly without ground sheet / skull cap / infill and spread low and wide if you prefer. I'd put my neck out and say its probably a lot more stable in hooligan winds than most other bivvies on the market . . .its also the 'carpiest' bivvy available and has been since its release
If you carry more kit than you need / do longer sessions (eg France) then it could be considered (especially with todays wide bedchairs) too compact in which case a bigger option may be required. Being honest I prefer the Tempest V2 over the Pioneer 150 in this instance, as while the 150 has all the design features of the Ultralite you would never fish it stripped back and its a beast to lug. Saying that its fabric is THICK and dark and again its solid once put up.
With the Tempest unfortunately they don't do a V2 size anymore (its in-between a current Tempest 100 & 150) but the ability to add multiple wraps / turn it into a 2man with a social cap means it wins in terms of versatility on longer sessions. Frontiers are similarly adaptable and the weird looking flat back must create more space; they just look a bit pikey . . . .but that's only my opinion!

Its a fold away camping kitchen table made by Outsunny. A really handy bit of kit for a session lasting a few days or more with 6 shelves, zipabble front, vented rear, a worktop and wind break for the kettle. Nash do one but it seemed over priced for what it was.

If you get one, definitely buy a BBQ cover for it. I pop a cover on it at night then drop a mat behind it and barricade the sides and front with buckets or whatever else you have. This keeps the rain and rats out.

I am hoping they bring down the extension aswell, the price at the minute is just crazy seeing the Trakker version is so much cheaper. Would definitely buy one though if it was around £200/£300.
I really like that cooking station you have there think I'll definitely get one of those for the warmer months

It's multi functional that Chris and it doubles as a shower block. I can't survive like some of you lads wrapped around a bit of empty cardboard egg packaging.

I think your set up is one of the best I've seen in 40 yrs of carp fishing I just couldn't own all the bits and pieces I got a three quarters full ta carryall lol so I can store all in house
make sure you keep it safe mate I had my gear nicked twice put me off owning a big set up again

That's very kind of you but to be honest there's plenty of others on here that have equal if not better setups than mine and most of them are far more dedicated than me. I don't get out that much but on those miracle occasions it's nice to have a few creature comforts.
I'm too old these days to keep looking over my back when I'm out fishing and that's one of the good things about the club I'm in, the waters are all fairly secure.
