Everything i have ever bought from avid has broken so I can imagine it has to be pretty good!

Absolute waste of time.
To compensate the shop sent me a second bivvy as the tension bar clamps break when you try to close them and spare tension bars although listed as an item have not been in stock for 18 months plus.
The wrap mozzy mesh falls apart and the bivvy does the same..... shame because the design is good.
Just buy a trakker and be done with it....

I never used their customer services as i really should have known better than to buy any more of their tat. Shame though as some of the actual designs are ok but the quality of the products is hilarious

Strange I bought some of there exodus rods in 10ft 2 1/2 year's ago these rods have been nothing but abused they spend most of the time in the car for short quick sessions and I've not had a moment's bit of trouble with them

Not much to go wrong on a rod i suppose. They wont make the blank, the reel seat or the guides and apart from a faulty blank, loose reel seat or a wonky guide, not much else can fail
Try one of their shelters, chairs or even a bag stem

I've been using their cradles and retainers for years and none have even had one broken stitch on them

I had the cradle,it was shocking.The stitching fell apart and the material started to peel

Strange. Mine was battered for years ,a d is still in use by someone else to this day. My latest version is 2-3 years old and still perfectly fine. Even had angry moggies in it . You must have got a duff one

Yeah, had an a spec chair which fell apart avid didn't want to know even though it was less than a year of owning it. I bought it from the big one Stoneleigh so had no online email receipt or anything but I rang total fishing tackle and they sorted it for me. I wouldn't buy anything breakable from avid again... My avid cot has been fine though but nothing to go wormg on that really is there.

And most of the materials used by those companies will have been sourced from china indirectly. Just cos it carry's the Union Jack don't be fooled.

Do we actually manufacture any raw materials in this country anymore? I thought the whole point was that we close all our polluting industries, outsource it all to china, where they burn vast amounts of gas and coal to produce it. Then we get to point the finger at other counties saying how bad they are and look at us and how amazing we are at cutting our CO2. Its all a load of bollox.
Same as this massive push for electric cars and heat pumps. Its all horse s@@T. Scrap a perfectly good car, produce tons of CO2 making a new electric one, use slave labour to extract the materials for the battery, then ship the whole lot half way round the world on gas guzzling container ships, so someone in the UK can boast about how green they are, whilst making the power to charge it from burning gas in a power station.
Same with heat pumps, made in china, shipped half way round the world. Then we burn gas to make electricity, producing loads of CO2 which we transport through hundreds of miles of cables, losing half of it in the process, stepping it up and down through transformers etc. Which we then run a heat pump with, instead of just burning the gas that we already had at the start in a perfectly good boiler at over 90% efficient.
In years to come people will realise that theres a lot of people making a lot of money off the back of this green revolution.

I was having this conversation with somebody the other day and that the national grid isn't big enough for everyone to have electric cars or heat pumps... Not that heat pumps work anyway. On top of that, what happens to all the batteries in electric cars when they all fail within 15 years? Also, what happens with vans and hgvs? It's all good having electric vans for delivering parcels and that like they do with hardly any weight but a van full of tools etc travelling round working and lorries, they can't stop all the time to charge it for an hour or two, the technology isn't good enouhh
It's all too late, planet is fooked. Everybody knew about global warming, fossil fuels, deforestation, plastic 30 plus years ago! And nobodies done anything about it.

Yes slightly off topic that went. That's good though, the guy I spoke to about my chair falling apart was basi ally like well what do you want us to do about it. Shame as I do like some of the avid stuff but wouldn't buy it now.

Ive only ever brought smaller items (buzz bars, bit of luggage etc) but everything I have ever brought has been poor quality and subsequently fell apart. Ive never bothered with their customer services, I just would not buy anything Avid ever again.
Shame as some of the stuff seems a good idea in principle
