Hello all.
Last year I purchased a Sunblesa headlamp having heard good things about them. Unfortunately I got a bum deal. The battery life was around 15 minutes. As I didn't try it in anger till well after the return by date had passed due to various reasons, I put it down to experience and chucked it in a drawer in the garage.
A little while ago, the subject of this headlamp came up and I posted my experience of it. Shortly after doing this I had a private message (on this forum) from Gavin at Sunblesa to get in touch and they would try and sort it. I did this and explained my experience. He asked whether I still had the old one to which I said yes. The other day I received a new light unit for the lamp to replace the useless one I had. used it for the past few nights on a session -no issues at all. I am very pleased.

So if you had a Sunblesa lamp that had rubbish battery life, get in touch with Gavin at Sunblesa as he may be able to help you too.

Sunblesa customer service is excellent, Gavin is a top man. I wanted to buy one of their bivvy lights a while back but was a bit unsure due to never having heard of the company.
Gavin went out of his way to answer all questions I had, provide reassurances and even directed me to the cheapest place to buy it from. Ive recommended them to everyone since!

thats outstanding after sales from Sunblesa
I had heard they sorted the early faulty ones and the battery life is excellent
a mate bought this Sunblesa kit recently BRILLIANT PRICE !!!!
and is raving about it it includes a bankstick adapter that he used on a storm pole to take some brilliant night shots

EDIT I have the brilliant Nitecore NU25 headlamp but I would have no hesitation in replacing it with a Sunblesa if it ever packs up

When you say the original only lasted about 15 minutes, what setting did you have it on?
I have two sunblesa headtorches and have found them to be really good.
My only criticism is that before the battery runs out the torch flashes red three times but when you have the white light on you don't notice it, so everything suddenly goes black.
I suggested that the torch should flash three times when its down to 10% battery on whatever setting you have it on. This will give you time to plug it in or get the spare out.
The guy from sunblesa has already messaged me to say he likes the idea and they may well incorporate it in the future.

I have one of these. First time I used it it went out after about 15 minutes. I just chucked it in my bag and forgot about it. A couple of weeks ago I recharged it and timed it running on bright. Much to my surprise it ran for 3hrs 45 mins so I will give it another go.

decided to buy one for a birthday present (its my 76th birthday in 3 weeks lol ) it arrived Weds but that was my monthly Chemotherapy day and it knocks me sideways for 2 to 3 days so just managed to try it and the blooming remote control dont work Ggrrrr
and yes of course I did remove the plastic battery protector tab the light works fine manually
and the kit looks great with the nice case and bankstick light holder adapter great buy at £29 for the whole kit just need to sort the remote issue I suspect its just the battery

update
after buying the FAULTY Sunblesa bivvy light from Amazon there was NO OPTION to get it replaced
only return for a refund so had the inconvenience to take it to a drop off point and then get a refund
and now I got to take a chance and buy it again and hope the next one is not faulty

What fault did the bivvy light have Gerry? I've just got one and the remote was awful, had to basically touch the light with the remote for it to do anything,and only some of the functions worked using the remote. They've sent me a new remote this week so I'm trying it over the weekend

My new replacement bivvy light kit arrived and all works perfectly top quality kit with a custom hard case a bankstick adapter so can illuminate those night shots highly recommended

Now I run it on the third setting when I need to to - it just works for ages

I have two sunblesa head torches and I used both earlier today and the battery seemed to die on both rather quickly.
I have heard there are some that had poor batteries fitted and am worried about mine.
Is there a way for me to test the battery life to check if they are fitted with the good or the poor batteries.

Maybe first check the estimated operating time according to the shop you bought it from? Probably between 5 to 10 hours depending on settings. Or e-mail the employee below on the address he posted
