I am looking at getting a new cool box and see the icey tek gets good reviews. I was looking at 56 litre long box. Does anyone know how many 5kg bags of boilies you could get in one of these? Thanks

I've got the 25ltr one and I would say you would get 20kg of boilies in with a couple of frozen bottles of water

The icy techs are superb but very big and heavy which is why they are so good. I had the 25lt and the 40lr icey techs but ended up selling them and getting a yeti roadie 24lt cooler, much more manageable size and has a carrying strap.

Yes the yeti is 2.5 kg lighter. The yeti is a better shape to fit in the car as well as its narrower and taller so goes behind the car seat which the icey tec didnt.

The finish on them is much better than the icey tek and I prefer the catches and the shape of the yeti, great colour as well. Very expensive for what they are mind. All there gear is top notch, been using there insulated mugs for years.

the Icey-Tek is heavier etc HOWEVER !!!
It will 100% out perform the Yeti and will still have ice long after the yeti has melted so depends on what you want really

Ive never really noticed any difference between the yeti and the icey tec if im honest. I dont go for more than 2 nights and they both kept things frozen the same in that time. The yeti is a much more convient size yet has the same capacity and its a god send being able to put it behind the car seat which i couldnt do with my icey tec, that thing took up a quarter of the boot on its own. In all honesty there both overkill for my needs.

Thats why I said it depends on what you want
if your a weekend angler fishing in this country almost ANY coolbox will do you
but when **** gets real and your at the side of a lake for a week in 35c plus you need an Icey-Tec !!
it was bought home to me a few years ago when I had 3 Dutch lads fishing next to me I had the large Coleman Extreme 2 of them had Icey Tek and one a big Yeti and we had 30c plus Temps in the day
my Coleman was about the same as the Yeti after 4 days most ice melted the 2 Icey-Tecs however were nothing short of bloody amazing hardly any ice had melted in comparison
I just did a supermarket run and got new bags of ice every 3 rd day for the 2 weeks I was there
EDIT those lads were diamonds they had a van full of Desperados Lagers and the deal was if they could use the empty space in my coolbox for them I could drink some

Okay so if I got a 40 litre one that should hold 30kg no problem.
Just to keep them ad fresh as I can then will air dry and rehydrate as I need.

You will get 30kg in the 40 no problem but you need space for some gel packs. Think the 40 takes two gel packs.

Those gel packs are sh1t use frozen water bottles as they last much longer

Always found frozen water bottles take up to much room. The gel packs you get from the camping shops are garbage but the yeti and icey tec gel packs are really good, miles better than your generic camping shop gel packs. They have always kept my stuff nice and cold.
