Looking for reviews on both the Avid Benchmark x and Solar SP C Tech wide bed chair need to get something as ny back is suffering

I have wide avid..
And std sp c tec
Solar is firmer ..
And stronger.
Both are nice and high.
If could only keep 1..
Solar all day.

Avid for me. I suffer with a had back as well. I've tightened up the bungees and it's now nice and firm. I get a very good night's sleep on it.

Not used the Avid so can't comment on it.
I've got the Solar one you asked about. Hands down the best bedchair I've ever had - been carp fishing since around 1983, so I've had a fair few of them to have some idea of the good ones and not so good ones. I'm out every weekend all year, so this does get used a fair bit. It's still the same as when I bought it other than a few scratches on the legs manhandling it on and off the barrow. Still super comfy and no sagging like a pair of old boys knackers.

I have the avid benchmark - for about 3-4 years.
started falling apart after about 6 months, legs are rubbish and no locking nuts on the legs mean putting it up is a pain n the ass.
Once its up and the legs have been pushed back on it is very comfy

Avid is the comfiest bed I've ever owned, but the frame is poor quality. Snapped on me like a matchstick a while back.

Recently bought the Solar one. Build quality is top grade, and despite comments on other threads about it being too firm if you were a side sleeper (like myself), I found it extremely comfy. Easily the best bed I've had in 35 years of carping.

Im looking at the sleep system. From what ive seen, the bag it comes with is 5 season? Is that right? And can layers be removed? Or does it need the cover to make it 5 season?
And also, what are the actual measurements for it? Solar say 205x80 cm. thats smaller than the dimensions listed for my fox flatliter mk2

I brought the solar system.
It's a bag unlike some others.
Velcros on in middle.
Pockets over ends.
Nice thick and warm.
The cover comes with the system and would make it 5 season.
I have fox ventec 5 season that is layered.. I dont think it's as thick as that.the cover toggles to the top of the bag.
I dont regret my purchase.
Ps.. so it's a single thickness top and bottom.
It even comes with a bag to stuff it in when not on the bed.
I haven't used through summer as use an old thin bag.. or just a cover.

How do you find ot width wise? Specs show it 7cm narrower than my flatliter, but that does narrow somewhat when it has weight on it due to the elastic. Assuming the solar one wont have that problem?

I have had the flatliter,mk2 flatliter and the solar bed does not feel any narrower to me.Im not small built and found I can move around in the solar bed fine

I'll be after the solar bed next I was originally looking at getting the sleep system but now I'm not to sure as my fox flatliter compact mk2 zipper on the actual bed chair has more or less snapped off, I think it's only been used around 10 times, its made me think twice about getting a system again just seems like it's something else that can go faulty, i might just opt for a bed and a separate bag Next time something like the snugpak techlite . Not sure if I can get my Fox one repaired from anywhere, it's a bit annoying really

The 5 season bag on the solar sleepsystem fastens to the bed like a normal bag would and then has the cover that you can take off via a toggle system.The bag it comes with is very good quality,I went for the bed and fortis bag combination in the end though

I have had the Avid Benchmark for a few years, a pal purchased one after sitting on mine just after I purchased it. He does around 2-3 nights a week and sold it and purchased a Solar. Having sat on his bedchair I'm very tempted quality item the only thing stopping me is the lack of 4 legs. My Avid needs maintenance the plastic leg mechanisms are loose and need gluing more over having retightened the elastic twice o recently noticed the middle section of the frame has been inwards so it's only a matter I've time before I move it on.

Anyone with the sptech system found that the toggles on the cover dont line up properly. Either the toggles or the elastic loops are about 4 inches out of line on the one ive just recieved. Means the cover doesnt fit right at the foot end

The lack of the 4 legs on the Solar isn't a problem. I thought the same before purchasing. The legs at the foot end are slightly closer to the foot end than other bedchairs, and I suspect the hinge system and weighting helps too. I've found it almost impossible to tip up, unlike other 3 leg ones, which end up as a comedy sometimes. It really is a very good bit of kit.

It definately dosent need a fourth leg, its super stable as it is and would just add unwanted extra weight.

Anyone able to confirm if this is normal, or if the cover fits as per videos and pictures where the skirt is hanging down. If anyone has one working as i imagine it should, are you able to take pictures of the toggles and loops. Looks like rither the toggles or loops have been sown on in the wrong places

I've only used the outer cover once but it did line up with toggles from memory.
Had mine nearly 3 years and literally changed my fishing. Waking up without back or hip pain
