Hi people!
As title suggests , I'm looking to become a member of a lake/syndicate near swansea/neath, I am also willing to travel.
The reason for this is that I'm a bit tired of the clickiness on certain lakes, and certain lakes being "Fully booked" when there is only around 4 people on the lake when you drive around it.
Is there any syndicates/member lakes allowing new members near the area I have mentioned?

I'm guessing you are talking about White Springs. If you are willing to travel to Cardiff you have Lamby Lake as a good lake with a good stock and then The Birch Syndicate. I dare say that they are others in-between but I don't know them, I tend to travel the other direction into England for my fishing

HA!, not white springs, I've never tried to get on the speci there in fairness.
I've always wanted to travel over the bridge into some venues, just wouldn't know where to start lol.
Is lamby and the birch member/syndicate ?

Both of those are syndicate, not sure of any waiting lists. Just across the bridge you have Acorn which is a bookable day ticket lake that is not overly difficult fishing so would recommend you giving there a try. Syndicate lakes are in demand so most will have waiting lists, some of which will be lengthy

What about the fendrod mate, very close as well. Think they got a website and Facebook page.

Lamby used to offer day tickets but it is day fishing only so a bit of a trek for you on a day session. Birch is purely syndicate but you can fish the Peterstone lakes on the same site on a day ticket, and do nights, but imo a bit far to travel for you for the quality of fishing but at the same time can give you a chance to talk to Martin and the guys re The Birch if you're interested. Always forget about Fendrod over Swansea but I would say the stamp of fish on the other lakes mentioned is better but you need to balance cost, travel and time to see what suits you

Yeah, have spoken with martin this afternoon, Going up on sunday to chat with him and see the lake, I've probably spent nigh on £85 on 5 sessions locally, so the cost there, to guarantee good fishing and a bunch of good lads is worth it to me.

Pop into Lamby on the way over to take a look around. It's a park lake so easy access and parking. If you join syndicate you can do nights or pay for days only. Birch is a nice lake with a decent stock, just a bit busy

You have the Wharf in Cardiff - good stamp of fish but not everyones cup of tea (very 'urban'). There is a waiting list in place though so will be waiting until atleast next summer.
Just seen this thread so got to ask if anyone knows is White Springs colicky and hard to get on to especially the specimen lake.
Was hoping to get on there next year in a quest for a 20+ and hopefully a 30.

Just book in advance and you should be fine - always rammed there and very little water per peg though. I've only fished it a couple of times over the years (not my cup of tea) and have never seen anything of note come out of the speci lake.
It's very much a set up and sit there waiting for fish to arrive as no scope to move about and find fish.

Just phone and book and hope there is space. You have to phone well in advance otherwise your choice of swims will be very limited and there definitely are some poorer swims to get stuck in. The fish can turn up and get caught all over but they definitely favour some areas over others. My advice would be to fish the Pit first, very well stocked and a good number of 20s. You will get used to the venue and the bailiffs and put you in a great position to move on to the Speci at a later date, which is quite a tough lake, especially of you are new to Carping (which I am assuming you are based on your comment) and the Pit will give you experience as well as a good chance of a 20 before you start aiming higher

👍Thanks for the advice. Will now give the pit a go first. I did a study on the catch reports on their website and agree there are some swims that did not record or reported a catch between 2019 to date.
Reading ALL pages
