Having just seen the social media introduction to these on carpology page these look a v.good and well thought out piece of kit don't they? They even look the part, RRP £299.99 for three alarms and receiver. I've just been looking for a new set of alarms and just like magic these appear, they look the business.

check out the Prologic Bat + alarms before you spend your hard earned
I now know of 2 people that bought these alarms as back up for their Delks and are now BOTH using them in preference
selling out fast and heavily discounted dont let the silly cheap price put you off mate LINKY POO

I'm not too keen on the look they remind me of batman
I've used my set of news for years but they're a bit battered now, I'm struggling to see why you should pay the fox prices, many alarms now are just as good

Arent your generation the ones that loved all that blingy shiny stainless stuff 
You can't buy confidence. But all alarms and reels ect will catch fish, you spend 99.9% of the time sat behind your tackle sat doing nothing, if the fact you like the look of it makes you happy, and gives you a little more confidence then there is no harm in that. Most people fish better when feeling confident which in turn can put more fish on the bank

Yes i got your point.
But these days there are many many alarms at different prices that are all reliable and all work very well. They will all do exactly the same thing.
So if you have a choice of alarms that all work, whats the issue choosing to buy the ones out of that selection that you prefer the look of?

That comment is quite ironic in that a set of mini microns from Fox, which are very good, will set you back a fair bit less than the £299 you are quoting for the JRC. I would recommend the Fox alarms for both value and quality but also back Jerry up in that the Prologic Bat alarms punch well above their price point in terms of performance ( I get it that you don't like the look of them but they do a very good job)

I get what you are saying, funnily enough my own preference is for practicability over looks, my reels are balanced to my rods and 99% of my gear is purchased on practability ( as long as it's quality) over looks but these go a bit far in the bad looks stake for me, do they let off a bat signal when you've had a fish?
I'm sure they work great but why go to all the trouble of making a good working product to completely ruin it with looks? I suppose you could could name your receiver Robin though, then shout "Pow" when you get a run

Really like the look of the new micron m, I like to have three different colours l.e.d's though, I do a lot of fishing and it's very obvious three different colours help to see which rod has bleeped at night with a just a glance.

I got the newer fox Mx and paid £269 for 3 with receiver.
Unbelievable value, and yeah I get your point regarding different leds, nice to clearly see which one at night.

The mini microns come with volume, tone and sensitivity control and you get to set the colour led on each alarm to your preference. I have 3 different colours on my alarms at the moment and I do agree that it is a plus having that. So what features are missing for you?

I am the opposite , if I get a beep I have a look to see which alarm it was. I don't go oh that's a 1 inch drop back on my middle rod because the yellow LED is flashing. as long as the alarm sounds when the line moves that all I am bothered about, all this latching LED on a drop back ect is just to catch the angler and justify adding more £ to the price

The mx's sound a lot better, got to be honest though, I think the new mini microns body and looks poop all over the most expensive body shape of top priced fox alarms from a great height.
Having used nevilles for a long time now I become a big fan for a few reasons. The thing I like about neville's is the two l.e.d's, the latching light is ideal again for at night if you're tucked in your bag and you need to turn over to see what's happening when half asleep, or it's hammering down in your face and you've had to zip the door up as is the different colour l.e.d's.
Nevilles have a sensitivity setting for tow aswell which unless you've used them you won't know how handy it is, that setting is a firm favourite of mine because I do get a fair bit of toe on waters I fish. The thing I say about my neville's is they bleep when I get a bite and are easy enough to fiddle around with in the dark with just one switch to cover everything.
I do sometimes use a boat though and this back-light feature on these new jrc buzzers is a genius idea 💡
The only reason I'm changing buzzers is for a change, I'd have no problems buying another set of nevilles, they bleep when you get a bite, are simple to use, bomb proof ( I've dropped one in the margin by accident and continued to use it since with no problems at all, they've never let me down in nearly a decade of heavy use.
The perfect new buzzer for me is this. It looks like the new mini microns, it comes with simple features, good volume & sensitivity settings that you don't need a manual to work out. It comes with 2 l.e.d's one which is latching like the Neville's, but with l.e.d's on the top of the buzzer instead at the bottom because you're always looking down on your rods and often the reels get in the way of vision of your l.e.d's.
A tow setting is a big plus for me having used the nevilles it's more than a gimmick, it's really handy. Built in snag ears or a seat with high sides so you don't need snag ears would be an advantage. I also agree with the person below that it has to be pleasant to look at because you spend a lot of time sat behind your rods.
As for different colour l.e.d's if you've got three l.e.d's of the same colour and you start getting continuous single bleeping on one rod you wouldn't know it was one single rod unless you were using your receiver. It's much much easier with three different colours

I think the mini micron looks a good alarm for price I had the original ones when they came out great alarms i would be careful of buying budget brands cheep alarms might end up buying twice

and particularly The Prologic Bat 3 + Alarms just amazing they show them underwater working perfectly range is really good lots of features and as I posted earlier I guy I know a very experienced angler that has had every alarm going over the past 40 odd years Fox, Nevs ,Atts ,Sirens Ace Delks to name a few bought a set as a back up ( after I showed him Smurfs post)
to his delk Txi`s then went on a 14 day French trip only to find he had left his Delkim receiver at home as he said 3rd day he got fed up and switched to the Prologic Bat 3 + alarms and hasnt used the Delkims since !!! he said he cant belive how they can sell them at £100 a set
Note the earlier Prologic was rubbish but clearly they got their act together with the Bat3+

Had a look at bat you tube how do they do it for £99 they look ok time will tell but I prefer the mini micron tbh

Looking at the spec for these they seem very similar to the discontinued JRC radar DS3 alarms that I've got.
The DS3s are very good and never missed a beat in all sorts of weather. The main issue I have with them is the battery life is not great. The only other issue I can see and this applies to most of the cheaper alarms is that if one head unit goes faulty or you break it then you can't get buy a single unit to replace it as they only sell them in sets. Also they change models quickly so they soon become obsolete.

The jrc look ok. Nothing to get excited about.except imho pointless led drop back system. As for the prologic alarms, I've had some years ago. Can't vouch for these but the ones I had was utter cheap crap. Broke very quickly. A friend bought a set last year and as of now only one of the 3 alarms still works

Ngt prologic saber and others are all beginner budget brands as said cheep alarms eat batteries and if you break one you can't get a replacement so best to stick to reliable brands they cost more but you don't have any worry
