HOPING to visit later this year, would I be best advised to take a bait boat? I'm not a long caster (100yards or so).
Just looking to make things as stress free/ comfortable as possible, with a decent chance of a few fish. Tia.

If you have one then why not take it? Use it if you find the need.. As an aside, have you seen Kev Ellis's video on Lesmont?

He's posted another one up for this place

Cheers mate, yes I've spoke to others and seen Kevs videos, not got a boat but I'll get one to take, don't need the stress of struggling to get tight, or pulling for a break with a rig in the trees.

It's where the fish in my profile is from when the lake was owned by Andy its the Guvnor at 64lb. I fished from the lodge used a boat but found the feature finder was more important was only using a cheap one but it was a lot easier to find the spots. Does Lee not hire them for the week if not and you are near Baitboat solutions they hire boats as do UK bait boats

Kev ellis has just put a vid of Lesmont on YouTube
Worth a watch to help you decide perhaps?

Been a few years since I last went, but as others have said a boat is definitely advantageous in some swims but don't forget the near margins as they are hardly fished and can be very productive especially if the lake isn't busy (nobody next to you).

Cheers mate, yes I'll check with our group leader, and find out if Lee hires them out, if not I'll splash out or hire elsewhere.

Certainly got a few pointers on shed maintenance and satellite dish inspection.

uf, some busy roads behind that lake, could hardly hear them speaking.

Still my favorite capture from any lake I've ever fished in France regardless of the size, the only time I fished Lesmont and it was the only fish for me a mid 30 on a four or five day trip the week before Christmas 2009 when Andy owned it, lovely lake always promised myself a return but never got around to it should do as it is a fantastic lake/setup for an enjoyable holiday type venue, good luck a bait boat would be advantageous I never took one and felt I could have done better if I had.

This was my favourite lake when Andy owned it and done a lot of time there.
I fished the whole of August a few times with an early trip and a winter ticket .
6 weeks a year at this venue .
My avatar is pops now deceased , also 64 lb .
When Andy sold it I cancelled my 2 years in front trips as I didn't fancy it anymore as I knew what it would turn into .
I also did a few jobs on the cabin when it was finished .
I could always find fish and got to know the lake very well and how it reacted to pressure and also had a lot of help from Andy .
I mostly fished in 7 and fished over to the right of swim 1.
25 yds out from swim 1 at the bottom of the slope as they use this to go up and down the lake .
It's a bit rocky and bumpy and obviously traps food there .
Most go tight and do catch but when I was there I saw a lot of blanking in my month long trips .
It fished different every week and that was the challenge .
The fish are a lot bigger now and a few that I caught are no longer in there .
But due to Andy's lake management there are plenty on the way up to replace those lost .
Lots of marks that give you almost a 100% chance of a pickup and I found my adrenaline going through the roof when I was fishing .
Anyway a very enjoyable time that I spent on there so can't grumble .
A bait boat is an advantage to fish it without making too much disturbance and to accurately measure depth .
Once my spots were found I chose two and dropped 5 kilo of chops on each and topping off when having caught .
My other rod all over the gaff with a bag of chops but the heavily baited spots always done good .
I did struggle in those early trips but as I went to Carpe D'Or very often sometimes 8 trips a year to Lesmont and Desire Andy said don't ponce about prime your spots with 5-10 kilo and only top up a little after every bite as there are a serious among of big fish in here and if they go through the spots it gets cleaned out .
Also had the big cats on also as there were 2 over 100 lb but if your on your own with high banks a bit of a struggle to get them out so I just unhooked them .
Enjoy your trip you will love it .
