So, I was reading a crazy article about someone who used 500kg of hemp and 50kg of bolies over ten nights of fishing and it got me thinking: what is the best money no object prebait.

1/2 tonne of hemp ? That's a huge amount of bait! I'm sure if you put that much of any bait in you'd get a a response

It's crazy, I know. It was at Euro Aqua in Hungary. He caught 77 carp. The biggest was 108lbs!

If I want to catch them on boilies then it's boilies , top quality different sizes different boiling times .

That's not any sort of comparison to fishing any other lake in the world though, that place is stuffed full of huge fish which need to eat huge amounts of food. As for your original question, there isn't a definitive answer, every lake responds differently so what may be the ultimate on one will do less well on another

Spot on Joss, too easy to get confused ,and also to think that bait is the main reason why we catch or don't catch

all baits work, end of, its down to personal preference and ones budget.
you also cannot go on others amounts of bait used, for the simple reason, every water, angling situations, stock levels, temperatures vary so much, blah blah blah all take into account..and that's even if the fish are in your area, if not, you might aswell use a single.
Cheap bait threads do my head in too

Sorry mate, your completely right. The weather has been awful the past couple of weeks so I havent been out fishing much recently. Going a bit crazy.
There is one lake in particular that is driving me a bit crazy at the moment to be honest. I just keep on blanking there and its making me question my tactics and lose confidence in my set up.
I can see there are carp in the swim but there just not interested. Ive tried all manner of approaches. Bolies on a hair rig,
pop ups on a spinner rig, foam on a zig rig etc.... Ive been prebaiting with goat mix and vitalin but Im starting to think that smaller silver fish might be eating it all up and that the carp might be more interested in hemp and boilies.
I have just ordered some hemp and premier baits random bolies which ill will use as a prebait next time I go there. Hopefully I will catch and regain my sanity!

Must admit mate, its not been brilliant fishing on my lake, fish have been very strange and feeding in really short windows, that if you arent on the them, you on for a blank. Even to the point the other evening i popped down, sat and watched 8 fish to mid 30 completely uninterested in feeding. When the weather settles, they will turn on.
patience mate. Decent bait (lots of them), decent rigs (multi rig for me) and bide your time
