Anyone who owns one have any observations, good or bad and which one to look at.
I'm needing a new bivvy soon and fancy one with an inner capsule to keep wildlife out.
Have never used even a groundsheet before so will be quite a change , looking at a 1 man bivvy not too large.

-Frontier Xd with capsule (I currently have,only 270x210cm but very large footprint inside and great height)
-Trakker Slx v3 (have the plus version, recommend the 2 man the 1 man is very low)
-Quest defier (zip-in groundsheet) (sold becouse i needed a bigger one for when i go fishing with my son))
-Armo v4 (recommend the 2 man to the 1 man is very low)
-Tempest 150
-RCG Alpha X1
-Cyprinus Typhoon MH (zip-in groundsheet)
Low height
-Nash Titan T1
-Tempest 100

I've been using a Titan TC with inner capsule. Quick and easy to put up, rock solid. Not very high.
Just got a Fox R-Series XL 1 man with inner capsule, better height for me, much roomier.
Nothing wrong with the Titan but I'm 6'1" and getting on a bit. The old back ain't what it used to be

I've got a T1. Tried the capsule for 1 night and not used it since, don't see the point in them and would rather have the extra space.

Do any of these have a zip in groundsheet? And I assume with all inner capsules you need the ground sheet fitted as well ?

The Titan capsule has a groundsheet permanently attached.
The Fox XL capsule has a zip in groundsheet.
The mozzies seem to consider me a delicacy, without the capsule I wouldn't be able to have a light on at night.

Fox r series xl with capsule. Not the quickest or lightest but a good height and zip in ground sheet that should keep the critters out. It also seems much warmer in winter, in my imagination maybe

Really go for the Frontier XD if you're considering the T1
Have seen them side by side T1 is overhyped for his price, low inside with capsule, low door hide, canvas medium quality.
I know there are others hyped about the T1 but they look through rose-colored glasses to the T1 or have never stayed in a Frontier
T1 is also bigger on the outside but inside it have less space then the Frontier XD

Just a series of soft plastic clips. Easy to use. Bivvy can be packed away with the capsule fitted. Can't comment on the Fox but I really like the T1. The fitted groundsheet on the capsule is a fairly lightweight one. I put down a heavy duty ground sheet first to protect it.

R series is on off the many fail bivvy series Fox have maded, i was not impressed with the canvas looks and feels like cheap 5000hh material + many have problems setting up on uneven ground.

Thanks is the T1 easy enough to erect and get down for a move of swims, with the inner dome in ? Or am I asking too much , I do a maximum of two to three nights per week and generally that includes at least one move of swims !

With some practice you can set up all those fast erect bivvies in less than 2 minutes, breaking them down is just as fast.
For your needs realy check the Quest defier.

If I m fishing two nights of mobile fishing I don't take the T1, I take a brolly or an old scope bivvy.
The T1 is a fantastic, spacious, comfortable, easy to use 1 man, high quality session bivvy and I love mine. Light and mobile it aint. Horses for courses.

I've had both the slx and r series bivvies both are good bivvies, if I had to choose again it would be the slx just because the r series of its in even ground it's all but impossible to put up. I've got a tempest now which I much prefer to either a few of those have inner capsules I would look into one of them mate

Not with mine, the quality was even better than my previous Trakker t100, and defier green or camo is now both 20.000hh canvas material.
You always have people who break everything, they can even make a hole in the thickest canvas or break the strongest poles, I don't value such clumsy types
The person that bought my Defier is also happy with it

No I hadn't seen that Cyprinus K2 , that looks very good and may be just what I'm after , I initially wanted a inner capsule but I suppose a full zipped in groundsheet and mozzi mesh panels and door would do what I wanted.
I assume it can be folded away with the front attached and add the groundsheet at set up on the bank.

For folding away with front in it you just need to leave the door open, i even can pack away my previous Quest defiler and Frontier Xd with groundsheet still zipped on it 😀

I'll start another post specifically for the Cyprinus K2 and see if there's any negatives !

can't say anything wrong about my defier I had the 10,000 version, the current are 20,000 + there is now also an overwrap available
Compared to the Frontier xd on the inside it is smaller if you do a lot of 2/3 night sessions a bit small but for 1 night or day sessions the Defier is ideal

I have the T1 and the inner capsule takes up a bit but not lots of space and does prevent condensation drip. None the less I'm happy to use it with or without.

Reading ALL pages
