Has anyone used the tracker inflatable bed underlay or equivalent? What are your thoughts? Do they make bed hairs even more comfortable?

Good shout on the 3.8, quite a few on the forum have/had 1....yes, Gerry is involved 
EDIT, forgot to add, I tend to sleep in a foetal position and at 6' my knees always touch the side frame of the bed which leads to pressure points and in my case sore knees. My 3.8 on my Levelite takes out a lot of the difference between the height of the mattress and the frame meaning I don't really notice the frame anymore...win win. Note, the Levelite is a stiff bed, if you have a softer mattress with more sag you may need a deeper inflatable if you have the same problems I did.

After reading about these on the forum lots of recommendations for the Helium 3.8. I purchased a cheap one from Aldi that was about £17 and have not looked back so much more comfort added to your bedchair my bedchair is a Trakker RLX and I won't go without the SIM now. Do a search there are lots of threads/information on the forum on these.

I had the Trakker one and it lasted a couple of years then deflated one day and that was the end of that
I also found it used to slide around on my bed
I now have the Helium which I think is much better, fits my bed fine and unlike the Trakker doesn't move due to the design and material
Also another thing I've found is not too inflate it too much, I found that the more I inflated it the less comfortable it became
Now I just leave mine on my bed for a while with the valve open and don't blow any extra air in and it's perfect after about 30 mins

Can these be left on the bed and folded up. As in put one in my flatliter, zipped under the bag and forgotten about?

YES 100% the Mountain equipment helium 3.8 can you wont realise its on there when you fold up to go home
and it will last you too unlike the cheap ones in this instance you really do get what you pay for IMHO

Yes you will need get to the valve to inflate and release the air to pack away.Its in the top right corner and on the flatliter its a doddle get to via the zip at the top

I had an Avid (I think) memory foam mattress for my bedchair, was ok but made it heavy and bulky when folded. After a few pointers from Gerry I went to Millets and got a hiking self inflating mattres, what a game changer, makes my bed really comfy, and warmer. As said loosen the bung and fold as normal, hardly know it's there, and when setting up, same as Gerry about 45 min or more before closing the valve.

If you were laying your sim directly on the ground then I would be concerned with the R-value
but its going on a bed chair and you have a sleeping bag layer too so its not really an issue I originally bought mine as I was feeling the cold on my back when a north east wind was blowing in the bivvy
(( I cant have the door down due to suffering with claustrophobia )) and it totally transformed the warmth and a huge bonus the comfort level shot up
and Paul YES thats the one a lot of us have

Bought an easycamp 3.8 from Amazon a while back and although ok at first I've had to keep patching it as it kept getting pin holes somehow.given up on it now and was wondering did I buy too cheap and will a helium 3.8 be much better

I tend to sleep in a foetal position and being 6' that nearly always means my knees are on the frame which though padded the sag from the mattress (even though reduced on my tightened levelite) creates painful pressure points on my knees. The 3.8 takes up much of the difference in height between mattress and frame making it almost unnoticeable and that means I can use more of the bed.
I would imagine with bigger sag mattresses you might need deeper than the 3.8 but I've no exp so cant comment.
I would say if doing a week on it air the mattress every day by pushing the bag of it for a bit.

Yes mate, mine did too. I think you'll find they are not as good quality wise versus the camping shop offering's, I'd guess Old Geezer would of recommended the Trakker one if they were any good.
The best ones have brass valves but are quite expensive.
