Hello guys

As above Really thinking of getting a set of either “C2Ds” or “hi s I've 13ft” made up.

Happy to sacrifice a little distance for extra playability and looking to fish around 140s, level lining.
Looking for good range but with a compromise perhaps in close.

Don't want a hi s 200, treb, Av TE etc.

Also been looking at the century C2 SP 13ft 3.75

looks Aimed Towards similar area as the His I've 13ft.

Does anyone know what these are like compared to the C2D and also the Hi S I've 13 ?

Think the his I've ‘er' may suit you more, still hit your distances But a bit better to play with

As you have dismissed Harrison Rods, in my opinion the best range of rods for me.
I will say Century C2D rods 100% get my vote. They make a small range of well designed rods for a specific task. The rods are designed and tested correctly before release, hence they very rarely change their rods. Also British built 👍

Never really liked century rods. Always found them heavy and every rod ive had the laquer on the whippings has went milky. Ive had a few sets of hi s over the years and they have all been superb so i would personally go with the hi s every time.

I've got hi s 200's 13ft hutch spec, love them for distance work.

Yeh I did consider these mate, but I'm 6,5 or 6,6 so want the handles fixed a fair way up blank. Tbh with the long arms I have a 13ft Seems a lot easier for me to use.

The ER are possibley one of the best 12 ft blanks around at mo

Love Harrison's And they're range, Def not over looked, but the aviator is too soft for me, the Av TE is too much 😂

The treblites are cool as, was looking at them, but very old/dated and Quite fat Blank, also been told if cash isn't a huge issue the Hi S I've is the better rod all round.

Think I'm narrowing down to between the c2 sp and hi s Ives both in 13ft ofcause to soften the action.

How to they perform closer in late are they are a struggle or do u not notice a diff up close ?

Heard a few stories of factory c2d with alps seats snapping butt's, are c2d's a slimmer blank than treb lites? For the range you want the lites would be my choice but if you like century what about the fma's.

Yeh 💯 me too, the free spirits too, It's those alps seats they don't Bend with blank and if moved up and done can cause major problems. I'm ditching the seats Anyways, but a very good point and can happen on almost all the blanks - Harrison's and century app will replace, free Spirit are a nightmare which is putting me off Some. Accidents do happen, cars doors etc, whatever seat have fitted 😂

The FMA are very specialist, they're a 200 yard plus weapon, stiffer and more ciritical in timing then the c2d, similar to hi s 220 or Full Treb.

Tbh I doubt I could use them Properly, or get at far as with a slightly slower taper Version. They full On braided Shockleader distance tools.
Not sure on they're fish playing but imagine it's hair raising To say least when close in 😟

Agree goose the treb lites are great rods for distance work but still retain some half decent fish playing attributes... Definitely worth having a cast with some if you can...
Mark tunley did me a set of 13ft ones in chestnut brown 😁... Used them alot out on places like la horre for fishing at distance...

My mate uses century sp in 13ft for bigger casting waters, he is a big caster and was impressed with how they went, so maybe be worth looking at those from the century range as well...

Thanks mate 🙏🏻 thinking it's Gonna be the new c2 - Sp or poss the FS I've 13ft, but leaning towards the century For A few reasons I think.

The trebs are lovely and great price too all Harrison's are amazing value tbh.

Think I'm possibly splitting hairs but def wanna be sure on the next set of rod I purchase.

Yeh the hutch spec hi s 200's have the handle moved up and the butt eye.
They are animals with 10lb mono and braid leader!
I wouldn't use them under 80 yards tbh, they are designed to be compressed so are not great at short range. They are ok at playing fish but obviously don't bend like a 12ft hi s blank.
I also have 12ft hi S's and hi s Ive er's so have a choice of rods depending on distance required.
