I prefer a wet shave (on my face before you ask) as I like it close but now it gets quite sore so I'm trying the leccy version, I have a Braun 3 series which is Mmmm ok but not as good as a wet shave, so, if I upgrade to a 9 series will it be as good as the reviews suggest, have any of you guys upgraded, is it worth the extra bucks.

Do you wet shave everyday? If so take advantage of the stubble look and only shave every two or three days?

I've tried a few electric ones, the last one was a very expensive all singing all dancing Panasonic one, I find it crap

I do Bob, I like to have an all day close shave, but what you are saying is more what I am doing now but I'd rather have a good shave every day.

I've a 9 series, about £400, it's good but not as good as a wet shave, I doubt there's a lecy one out there that is.

Definitely not worth the money either.

Unless you've got skin like a rhino's backside I think you'll have to accept that wet shaving each day to a very high standard without getting sore or using an electric razor and expecting the same results is just not possible.
A few years back I used a Philips electric razor and found you can still get sore if you try and get every bit of hair off.

Take a look at the Philips one blade it's a lot of razor for the money

Get yourself some aftershave balm for sensitive skin.I use it on my face and after I shave my head,brilliant stuff

I have some Nivea balm Tony....it seems to make my skin feel soft but by lunchtime I can feel the stubble
So, I'll try the leccy for a couple of weeks (if I can go that long) and if things don't improve I may go back to a careful wet shave OR grow another beard What do you mean grow another beard....have you got one already?

i worked for Gillete for 15yrs...

stick to wet & keep my pension going....

Grow yourself a beard , then you won't have to worry out shaving then , also cheaper.

I have the same problem Braders, not the sawdust, hair. I don't need hair, so 1980s. I'm one of those good looking bald guys

There's wet shave and then there's wet shave, if your using one of those overpriced plastic things and gunge from a can then that could well be the issue. I use a 55 year old Gillette with a single sided blade, decent shaving foam lathered with a brush and an after shave cream, gives a good close shave without any soreness.

The only electric I have found that gets anywhere near a wet shave is the Wahl balding clippers, but they are not cordless. Tried a couple of cordless over the years and they were pretty rubbish.

I do full head shaves with mine and they get it 95% towards wet shave standard, but nothing ever beats a wet shave...

I also love the wet shaving.
