Hi , has anybody bought this recently . I have used it a lot over the past few years in the .38mm which I like and is like two rope ! I'm now needing some more but can't seem to find it anywhere ? Everywhere seems to be out of stock . I'm can however find the .35mm from a few foreign sites . I considering buying this . Would you consider this strong enough for dealing with 3.5 - 4oz leads without a shock leader ?

I'm also looking at getting some .28/.30mm for use with a shock leader and long range stuff . Im looking at getting tech black for this also unless anybody can recommend something stronger and with better abrasion resistance for the same diameter ?

Can anybody shed any light ?

As said, I think they stopped making it. I used to use the .38 as well exclusively but couldn't find any more and moved to CM90.

Picked up 2 bulk spools at Bobco a few weeks ago I saw they had in, but not seen any online

Seem 5000m spools of lighter breaking strains for sale in Germany and Japan, but none of the 12 or 15lb unfortunately

I bought some of the 'Technium UK' 0 35mm/15lb recently, I think this has replaced technium black. It appears to be the same line on inspection. I wonder if it's just been standardised with the european version.

From what I have been told Shimano Japan has discontinued it and a new line line will replace it soon. Properly delayed by Covid

The .35 is actually. 38....I ordered some off ebay from a european seller and measured it.

Just spooled up with pb control 24lb.
0.35 breaks around 16lb.
Nice and supple, seems very thin not sure how gd the abrasion resistance will be. I can't break it on a straight pull though between my hands. I bet its lovely for distance casting. Will be trying it out Saturday.

I have a spool of 15lb technium invisitec, much more wiry and thicker , will swap it over if I get any problems with abrasion.
Need some more spare spools but got 6 spools with expensive braid on so don't want to take them off 🤔

Still undecided about the casting line . Still thinking tech black in .28 or .30

Johnson Ross has some technium carp line that is black in stock

Is it the same stuff ?

Iv just had a look now and it does seem to be the same . It's the .355 version . I was buying 15lb which was advertised as .38 . As mentioned , I'm guessing it's the same stuff

how are you/ did you get on with the pb mono? you seem to have used most of the lines available over the last few years so are in quite a good position to compare to other lines

I have been using the PB Mono for about 3 months now and rate it very highly.... ...sinks well, we have mussel beds and thick weed in our lake and no signs of deterioration, fraying etc.

Big thumbs up from me..

I fished years with Shimano tech black, Switched to Berkley Cm90 this year and it's Is so much better that it is a pity that I did not switch before.

Thats good to hear, i did use it around 10 years ago on a lake where there was a leader ban i used the 24lb 0.35mm it did cast very well and i cant remember having any issues but when i changed venues i changed back to the thicker tow line that i had been using
