Anyone got a Tempest 200, and what do you think? My son has started coming fishing with me quite often, and I'm getting fed up of cramming 2 bedchairs into a 1 man Cayman
I like to be organised and they look massive, which isn't an issue space wise as it'll be mainly used on the Trent where there are no swims as such.
I'd consider a 2 man Cayman if I could find one, but they're too hot during warm weather due to no vents and where I fish is totally exposed with no trees or cover whatsoever. Any other suggestions for a quality, quick to put up 2 man bivvy welcome.

You'll definitely have plenty of room mate, our local shop had one set up with two bedchairs and 4 normal chairs in. I'm 6.2 and could nearly stand straight in it.

Yeah they look massive! There are no space restrictions where I fish though, it's just fields. Fed up trying to organise all our kit in a 1 man cayman with wrap. I'll keep the Cayman for solo trips anyway.

I fancy one for France next year, seem good money for what you get, I was going to go for a Titan but for the price of these, I'll be able to use it over here when the kid wants to come. Do us a quick review when you have it mate? Not much about online at all

Will do mate, it's surprising the lack of info on them tbh! I'll either be out this weekend or early-mid next week with it.

Got mine 2 weeks ago.... absolute beast it is.
In the garden we had 3 bed chairs in no problem and bags!
Tried it on the syndicate was good in a few swims but too big for a couple of them!
don't think I will be using it when fishing alone even tho there's room for everything!

Mine came today, I don't think it will fit on the decking though...😂 I mainly fish the tidal Trent and it's wide open with no trees, cover or actual swims, so it'll fit anywhere I want to fish. When I'm on my own I'll just take the Cayman unless it's a really long session.

Sounds good, definitely think its between one of these and one of the Giant fox ones If I can find one of them. Really just seems to be hardly any info out about the huge bivvies, probably due to the market not being so big here maybe!

Well there's zero chance of putting it up on my decking, slid the poles together and started to pull it up and realised it was mahoosive Was easy to pack away back in the generous bag though which is a bonus! Going fishing on Sunday after this crazy hot weather has passed.

Literally just been offered one of these, not sure I could part with my v1 tho, but looks ideal for taking the mrs/kids
I looked at one of these for a long time i do a lot of winter session fishing here and abroad, so wanted something with a lot of room, when i see one last week in france i took the opportunity to speak to the guy using it, it is really big, easy to set up, however the material imo is too thin and not like the normal tempest so would offer little protection in cold weather, the ground sheet is less than half the thickness of the normal tempest so again little protection when the ground gets cold
in all i was disappointed as it didn't come up to the same quality of my v1 tempest but i think that is reflected in the price.
on the plus side its Huge, the inner capsule is a really cool idea for taking the wife so no you dont get screams in the night when creepy crawlies come in, you probably need a stepladder for fitting the skull cap but all fitted up it looks really cool and with two people inside you defiantly need it stop condensation, the rear vents are really big so airflow is to a maximum, the guy says it takes the same time to set up as a normal tempest so that,s a plus again.
I was gutted they scrimped on the material and ground sheet if they hadn't i would have paid double the price for the bivvy and suffered the extra weight as the sort of lakes i fish are straight out the back of my transit van i think trakker let themselves down on this one.

I wouldn't have bought it had it been aquatex or whatever though. It's heavy enough as it is, add thicker material and groundsheet and it would be over 20kg. The material seems fine to me. Maybe they should do both options

I agree, two options would be perfect..... for me in it's current form it would be useless come November i think aquatexx and a heavy duty ground sheet would send it to about 25 kilos, but as i said in my post i fish a lot of lakes where you park behind or in your swim, but my tempest v1 i rarely need the winter skin because the insulation it offers, the 200 does look good set up on the bank and blends nicely like all the other tempest range

i also fish all through the winter. i have aquatex and nylon bivvys. HD groundsheets
and ones ive made myself from thin tarp to weigh less. the material offers no insulation.
