After an awful night's sleep on my bedchair last night even with a SIM it's time for change...
I'm looking at the Wychwood Tactical X Flatbed in particular in standard size at 8KG seems pretty light and is wider and longer than most in the 'lightweight' category.
Seems for that sort of money to be decent from the few reviews I've seen... Any other options?

There's the JRC Stealth X-Lite Levelbed.
Looks to be a bit more expensive than the Wychwood though, and both look quite similar.

The Avid benchmark lite is very comfy

I actually spoke to Gerry on this subject and he pointed that as a side sleeper I would need a softer bedchair! So I actually don't think the wychwood or any others with rope going through the middle will be much good for my hips!

I usually sleep on my side and did try the wychwood lumber support compact i hated it it was far to firm for me yet i have no problems sleeping on a levelite lumber support which is far comfier for me, i know that isnt light or cheap i was just trying to give a comparison.
Don't discard bedchairs with a roped mid section as the other bed i use is the trakker superlite which has a roped mid section i find this a lot softer than the wychwood bed and comfy for me to sleep on, every other bedchair i have used that hasn't had lumber support, i have ended up roping the middle section

Yes I have looked at the trakker superlight before... I should have never got rid of my old Trakker one from years back which I've never been able to find anything as comfortable since.... only problem was it was pretty heavy

Interesting, I have a Cyprinus knock off of the first wychwood bed with no lumbar support, was thinking of upgrading to the new wychwood but as a side sleeper I might give it a miss. If you can find the wychwood tactical not x version they are very good, I use a thermarest mat in mine and find it quite comfy

As I type this I am sleeping downstairs on my Trakker Superlite, with a trakker SIM.
It's not because I've had an argument with the wife. I've got quite a serious lower back issue at the mo, and have trouble getting upstairs, so I just set my bedchair up in the living room.
It has been unbelievably comfortable, and especially with my dodgy back at the mo, I have actually been able to stand up in the morning. This is something that I couldn't achieve after sleeping on my f**king expensive orthopaedic mattress upstairs!
The bedchair and SIM combined weigh about 8kg, so if someone is looking for a lightweight and comfortable bedchair, I would definitely recommend this combo.
(Ps, I'm a side sleeper)

I spent ages looking for a bed like this and settled on the benchmark lite. Definitely ticks the boxes from first impressions I found all the others too hard

Dan before buying a new bedchair try one of these inflatable mattress eBay item number 402336962453 I use 2 of them on my mk2 fox flatliner. And no longer get back ache. I've tried so many bedchair over the years and wasted so much money along the way and even tried a self inflating Mattress and found them not thick enough . And didn't help but once I tried these inflatable mattress it has helped so much and no longer get back ache at all you have to inflate them yourself but it doesn't take much to inflate them

Yes, your sim needs to be good one otherwise your just wasting your time.
I use a Thermarest. Expensive but so worth it.
You can also zip tie your mid section or complete bed if you want to firm it up a bit.
Works for me and my lower back is fooked.

I recently purchased (or my wife did for me) a Trakker RLX Flat 6 Superlite.
Superbly comfortable, and I can't believe how light it is compared to the hulk of a chair I was lugging around before.
Used it for the 1st time the other week and had the best nights sleep ever in a bivvy.
