So im given my setup an overhaul, and im in need of some new alarms..... but which ones??
Never had delkims before but i cant ignore the hype, they seem to be loved by many so shall i just get some TXI-D's and be done with it...................... or, shall i consider another brand??...........

It's a question only you can answer. Such a personal thing.
Delkims. Their vibration sensing is the best on the market. Older alarms suffered with water ingress. Txi D not been out long enough to know if that's sorted. Loads of features so great for gadget freaks.
Fox. Something for every budget. The top of the range alarms are tried and tested and proven. But they are massive and look like they were designed by a five year old with crayons.
Nevilles. As simple as it gets. But prone to annoying wind bleeps and cracked cases. Ultra cult.
Then I'd just lump all the others Together, Nash, carp spirit Etc.
You pays ya money ya makes ya choice.
I've had loads of sets of Delkims over the years. Definitely my first choice. Others had issues and switched to fox and love them.

Got a set of TXI-D's a few months back and really like them so far. Nash siren R3s are also worth considering imo and cost a fair bit less than the delks.

This! Got the TXI-D now and changed from the R3's, which were great but I couldn't resist the lure of the Delkim warble.

Just got a set. Changed the wheels straight off. Loving them and not sure I'd use anything else on the market atm

I was always "anti" Delks until I bought a set of three of the old model (basic EV+)
Absolutely love 'em. Wish I'd bought them years ago.

For me it's fox or delkim if you want bells and whistles.
If you want a simple no nonsense alarms then ATTS or Neville.

for me its atts with 4 mag head. i like quick setup, tough, reliable and simple to use.
Scaley & Sundance have it right

Having had the alarms already mentioned I'd say delkim every time. Atts imo are rubbish, I really don't get what people think is so great about them, after all they are only a standard roller buzzer but without any features. Personally think the set of ava buzzers from 30 years ago that I have are better

I have tried all the wheel alarms fox ,nevs , atts, gardner tlb, all of them worked for me with no reliability issues at all, never had any freeze up in cold weather (minus 7 was the coldest and I won't be doing that again.)
I moved over to Delkims 3 years ago after watching a mate catch a fish that didn't move his bobbin but did set off his delkim, the fish had kited right and had that had been my wheel alarm i'd have never know about it.
Fast forwards to this year and its paid off, i had a fish swim towards me whilst slack lined and again no bobbin movement but my delkim was activated and fish was landed.
I got the new txi-d's and they're a lot to learn but once you get the hang of all the setting they are brilliant, been out in the rain too, no issues as of yet, but then i didn't have any issue with the old txi either.
can't see myself moving from these anytime soon, well worth a look if you're in the market

Another vote for ATT, great alarms, so exactly what you want them to do. As others have said switch the mag rollers over to 4 mag from the standard 2, I've had mine a few years now and they have never let me down.

I had similar with a Barbel last week. Had a single bleep at 3am, looked at the rod tip and it straightened a bit then started rattling but no line was being taken as it kited downstream on a tight line. Hit it and a 7lb Barbel was on the end.

I've had loads of sets of Delkims over the years
NEVER EVER HAD A SINGLE SECONDS PROBLEM WITH ANY OF THEM
And I would never use an alarm that did not have a sensitivity adjustment

I got some Delk EV'Ds to see if I would get on with them, having always used wheels.
Long story short, love them, doubt I'll go back to anything else. Not that's out at the moment.
Will be getting some TXI-Ds when I can get them delivered without the Mrs seeing.

Made the mistake of taking her to a tackle shop so she knows exactly how much they cost unfortunately!

I had the old delks and never had a problem with them. Bought the new ones and after a while the receiver stopped working. They have replaced the board inside but now the speaker hisses pretty much most of the time which is disappointing.
Wish I would have kept the txi's.
