I think it was Ian Macmillan on the Korda podcast who said he won't go there as the owner doesn't want you to catch really just buy loads of his bait(only bait allowed too) and feeds the lake heavily even while paying anglers are there

That will be it. Even at £1 a kilo that's £2000 quid a week on bait. 😵😵Can't be any water in there. Each to their own.

170kg of feed twice a day is obscene and the fish are ugly as well!
As has already been said give me an unknown 20lb anyday.
I get fed up with reading about this so called top anglers who are out to catch one named fish and get fed up when they catch one of the 'B team' fish at only 30lb, they have lost the plot!

Same bud straight talking but comes across as a genuinely lovely bloke, hoping he can overcome the big c always enjoyed his magazine articles too plus I agree with him about the sirens look horrible

Its not just boilies he was using, the article says “It is commonplace to feed 20 kg of boilies, 100 kg of hemp and 50 kg of mixed seed per day, even twice a day, to keep massive shoals of fish in your swim.
It doesn't actually say how much bait he was using but I imagine it was a lot.

I have mate one of the best ones they have done, much rather listen to him than Darrel peck and his ‘very few people can do what I do or have the drive to do it' schtik id love to see him do my job and then call what he does work, 80 hour weeks on your feet all day in a small hot and busy kitchen in work by 7am sometimes 6 if I'm on breakfast, don't leave till 11pm at best no proper break just a couple of fags and shove some food down my neck standing over a bin, lol just seems arrogant whereas Ian just seems a very humble straight talking man have nothing but respect for him

Yea 120 fish over 70lb in a 25 acre lake and god knows how many 'smaller' 50's and 60's, that definitely couldn't be easy could it?
I feel sorry for the fish, horrible looking things and they must literally just eat until they explode.
Not my cup of tea at all but each to their own, but really if all you're worried about is weight where do you go from there?

Same here
Completely different place now carpfishing. The skilll and effort side of the game has taken a backseat seat to campers. 2 week sessions and the like
Ive done a two weeker and caught a fish, so what, would be disappointing if you hadn't!

How long has this place been around in its present form.
That's a scary amount of fish for such a small size water,they must be stressed out like crazy.
As we all know when fish are stressed as soon as one gets a serious stress related illness the rest are susceptible to catching the illness too.
Hopefully the fish are not stressed.
This one of those cases where I would say it is most definitely all about the money.
I know all business are about making money but something doesn't sound right to me about such a massive amount of large fish in a relatively small lake.

That's my point mate often I can't find the time at all!! Overnighters are out of the question, often don't get my days off together if I get em at all, worst I have done was around 100 hours at Christmas in work by 6am every day often not getting in till 2am was doing massive functions for 300+ twice a day so if we didn't stay and prep after service in the eve the next day would be impossible I was wrecked that week I survived of nicotine caffeine and hate 😂 place I'm at now is more chilled and just got told hopefully back on June 1st but working in two teams of chefs one week will work 3 days four off following week reversed so will have more fishing time next few months happy day's

At least 10/12 years I would say, it's got to be about 8 years since I was first offered a trip by a Dutch mate who had been going for a few years before that, (I never went literally shooting fish in a barrel).
I would say it exploded with quite a few of the known UK anglers going not long after this with quite a few of the Rainbow regulars as well going on the hunt for a WR but that was short lived you hardly see any of this bunch going now, I know quite a few that went but either fell out with the owner, were never in with a shout of the decent swims or realized that for a few thousand pound single trip you could go probably 4 or 5 times to other venues, Rainbow included with some winter trips included.
From what I know/been told it is a big jolly for the owner at the anglers expense ringing bells in the morning if you've had a big one/biggest one over night then having to buy the other anglers a champagne breakfast having to have a set limit of bait (his bait) per day, I believe it was Steve Broad who had a bit of a dust up with the owner possibly one of the shortest lived trips to the lake, I think this was over a new track being laid all day and the dust kicking up was blowing right across them (possibly another well known angler can't remember now).
I think a few things may have changed re: bait and whether you can or some did take their own but I think given the right swim and deep pockets it can be a bit like shelling peas.

The owner wasn't having any of it and went out in the boat and dumped 300kg of bait over their spot and they never had another fish and left early a couple days later. They said they bloke is only interested in money!! There was a silly rule that I can't quite remember exactly but it was something along the lines of, if you had a fish that weighed over 60lb (I think) you had to ring a bell and had to pay him x amount of euros (think it may of been 100 euros) needless to say they kept quiet about the lumps they had

It can be brutal mate, but I love it always have, if I spend too much time sitting about I get bored very quickly, yeah it cuts down my fishing time but going to work is never a chore you have to love it to be able to do those hours otherwise you become bitter. Although cos of lockdown and all this we have been told when we go back hours will be very very different working in two teams one week do four on three off and then reversed following week so will have more time to go over next few months

Euro aqua is a fairly unique place catering to a fairly unique clientele. They get their fish from Ballaton and basically ram large wild fish into into a 25 acre lake and feed them like buggery.
Yes it's about money and a number of eastern Europeans, Russian and Dutch anglers see it as a way to show off their wealth by fishing there, spending the money and showing off their gear (a euro aqua tarty tackle thread would shock a few on here))
They don't have fish kills or large fish dieing through stress post capture, it's just an "extreeme" venue that's not for everybody.
Eastern Europe is a weird venue for most uk anglers, 200 kilos plus in a week is far from uncommon be it boilie or particle on the big venues (500 acres+)
It's just a different scene and your either into it or not
