I've got a large Coleman for trips abroad but it's too big for just using on overnighters up to say 3 nighters.
I also have a Thinking Anglers Coolbag but just find it doesn't stay cool despite my best efforts to keep it on shaded areas etc.

Has anyone got any recommendations for the best bits of kit out there? Needs to be about the size of an average sized fishing coolbag as it'll be used on the barrow with some fairly hefty walks to swims.

I have the earlier version of this Costco bag its just cosmetically different and amazed at just how good it performs Keeps ice up to 2 days I just freeze bottles of water instead of ice packs
not sure if its the size you need though ?

Nash Polar Cooler bags

A little more expensive but very good and hard wearing too

Half price if you shop around

yes I've got the smaller Nash Polar bag and it's very good, keeps stuff chilled for 48 hours, using a couple of frozen 500ml water bottles seems better than ice blocks in my experience

Never really had a problem with the blocks but recently I'm finding them next to useless, I'll try the frozen bottles too!

Icey-tek do some great boxes maybe a little big for what you want but they also do a nice cooler bag and if it's as good as their boxes you won't find better 👍

Ive got a small green trakker cool box that seems to work pretty well. Just about big enough for a two/three night stint for milk bacon sausages etc. Probably not suitable for longer sessions or if you take a lot of food.

I use a 25L icey tec which is big enough for 3 to 4 nights.

Has anyone looked at De Walt? They do a five day fridge I think it's 7.5ltr...

The frozen water bottles definitely last longer than the blue 'ice blocks', if I use my Coleman Extreme then one or two 2litre milk cartons filled with water and frozen are excellent

I've got the 25ltr Icey-tek also and it's brilliant

And as below when I went to France last year I used frozen water bottles and there was still ice in them 3 days later 👍

I bought 2 De Walt tool storage boxes for £25 each. I then scrounged a piece of 25mm cellotex off a builder mate and lined them with it, finally sealing the joints with white silicone beading.



I use one for bait and one for food ( in France one for beer, one for bait) They are very efficient and because they are designed to clip together I've utilised the clipping point so they can be clipped onto a base on the carp porter so they are fixed.

Once in use they are strong enough double up as a Boat seat, or just as a foot rest with my chair. I've had beer in there for days with the ice still solid. Used them last year in France during the 40C heatwave and was a very popular chappie indeed with my ice cold beers

Great idea!. I have a Coleman 70 Quart Xtreme for France, great if you can keep it pumped with Ice. For UK fishing I use a Nash Polar medium that suites a 2-4 day stint easy.

If just 1 or 2 nights just by a standard 24ltr cool box from Argos for around £15 . Use frozen bottles to keep contents cool, if your worried that it does not look carpy enough, get some cammo tape.

I've found a Dometic Cool Ice 22 on Amazon, looks good as it's got insulation rather than just a double plastic wall.

There's a company that does bags that you roll the top down to keep them sealed bit like a duffle bag
Can't think of the company but they look good.

I found as well rather than use ice blocks freeze bottles of water and use them instead usually get 2 to 3 days of cold then chilled milk, etc... and use the water from the bottles on the last day for tea, etc....👍🏻

cant beat iceytek for quality .got 2 igloo marine ones both with broken hinges !they keep ice cubes solid for 5 days .they alsodo many shapes and sizes.look at their website.

agree with that ,for ice packs i use use 2l bleach bottles (well washed out) as thick plastic,and freeze them 3/4 full with water (allowing for expansion) .

that's a good idea as I have had the milk containers spring a leak before

If I'm on a long trip I freeze cartons of custard and use as freezer blocks and because there dense they stay frozen for ages unlike water etc and as I'm a bit partial to custard I'll eat it anyway when it eventually thaws or keep re freezing them,cartons of orange juice is another one,I always use something that can be consumed
