Can somone tell me the depths and contours of Smith's pool please? Any advice appreciated please.

Don't think it's got the depths on it but Tom maker has Done a fairly decent write up on mygilly.com. There's also quite good info on carpfeed.com

Sorry ant tell you where to find them but Total Carp did a feature about 5/6 years ago on each lake at Linear and they did cover the depths and main features within that from memory. I remember using it at the time on my 1st visit to the lake to find the bar c. 60 yards out on the Smiths pool side of the lake (the narrower side, not the deep bowl side of the lake)

You have the Smiths and the Hardwick side of the lake (I can never remember which is which) but the round side is deep with plenty of humps and bumps, the long narrower side not as deep and has a very obvious bar running roughly half the length of the bank c.60 yards out

Mini I appreciate your help although more confused than ever, the bowl bit which u say is deeper, if you mean smiths do you mean left lower numbers or right higher numbers?

Pegs 1 to 8 and the 40s are the deeper part of the lake per the map Chuffy just linked

Right I'm getting the confusion now, its the top part of water the original smiths pool before it was joined to hardwick is the information I'm after, thanks again.

Smiths tends to hold most the stockies and Hardwick the bigger older stock. Stockies are partial to floaters
