Hi. Before lockdown I purchased a new prestige power porter. It really is brilliant but I had a little difficulty steering it round corners. I wonder if this is due to it being loaded poorly. How do you chaps load your power porters? Thanks

You do know you have to lift it off the back wheels to steer around corners .
This is not meant as an insult .

I extend the front about a foot further than the front wheel and try to keep the weight from their to the rear wheels .
plus water and anything heavy that will fit ,in the under barrow bag

try to keep weight in the middle and towards rear wheels and heavy stuff low
And as said before you need to lift it if going around corners

And if you have the version with 2 rear wheels make sure that the type pressure are equal, if not it will track off to one side.

As previously said its how you load it, heavy gear over the back wheels and also I found out early on its a good idea to get the handles in a good position for yourself. Mine I had to extend quite far out.
Bloody good barrows though.

Like THIS, as everyone has said, if you are using the rear wheels get the weight over/towards them, going round corners lift the back wheels or shuffle them round in small 'bumps'

Spread the weight out evenly, first time I used mine I loaded it like a normal barrow and got about 20 yards before it went over 😂😂 the rear wheels are a load of rubbish for the cost of the barrow. I know 3 people that have them and we've all had punctures on the rear wheels (strangely all on the right one lol) I ordered the puncture proof ones 👍🏻

Also worth double checking the wheel legs are the same length (sort of same thing with tyre pressures) as you'll be going round in circles

You'd have thought for the money they'd have at least made the rear wheels on a sort of ball joint so you could push it round corners without needing to lift it.

Or don't use the rear wheels & load it like you would a non-powered barrow. The weight of the motor is around the wheel anyway, so when loaded as normal will mean it will balance as normal on the legs when stationary & also feel virtually weightless when pushing as the weight is over the wheel mostly. The motor will take the hassle out of pushing it especially on inclines.

Mine looks like that when I go by myself

The only bad thing I find with the power barrow is that I take way to much gear as I don't have to push it

Knowing my luck I would accidentally knock mine on and it would end up driving itself to the bottom of the lake!!

You have to push and hold the button to get it moving so no chance of accidentally sending it into the drink

Thanks for all the replies I'll look at loading the weight further up the barrow

Got rod racks on mine as I push it straight in the van as it is, just lift it like a normal barrow to go round corners

Nah just 3 days
It looks a lot but it's the rod racks that make it look big, mind you there's 3 days worth of food, and I do cook rather than live on pot noodles and biscuits

So do you only have to keep all the weight at the back only if your using the rear wheels?.
Cant see how it would tip over with the weight at the front
