It doesn't really resemble a lake anymore. It's virtually completely silted up,with sand from the workings now. I've not been down there for a couple of years, but last time I looked it resembled quicksand. A lot of the fish got moved, I believe into broadwater. Even on an old google earth image you can see it looks orange. I will see if I can post one up.

Actually in this newer picture it looks greener than the one I saw, but if you compare it to korda just below it, you can see how totally different it looks to a normal lake now. Just a silted up mess now.

I must confess I've never used the tandoori. The cafe is still there although I think it's called something else now.

Have all the fish been moved on them?
Would be a shame for them to dissappear due to the silting up
I know it lost a lot of its original / Harefield Haulin stock but didn't Boyer restock with some nice fish
Huge bream too

Yeah I was surprised. I remember it looking a lot more orange than that when we were looking at it and I bet that was a good two years ago, and it was fcuked then. God knows what it's like now, basically quicksand I reckon.

Closed to all fishing.
Same as Korda as I have just lost my ticket due to HS2 taking the lake, the biggest kick in the nuts you could imagine.
Harefield still looks lovely, as does Long Pond and Broadwater.

No, because the access to Broadwater on the BCSG bank has been taken over by HS2 as well unfortunately.
Long Pond was also BCSG but that's also over for the foreseeable future.

I hope you are right. But I've if they stop now they've trashed a lot of The Valley and it's waters. Just with the exploratory work.

The netting managed to catch 1 x perch, no other fish have been moved. BCSG have not gained permission for us to relocate the fish, and we didn't have permission to relocate any we caught. The will be left there for the foreseeable future, it would be a miracle if we get the chance to get back on there.

I have heard there are about 100 carp in Long Pond mate, the Korda netting was never going to work properly as it varies in depth from 3-16ft.

If they're wet dug pits they're practically impossible to net effectively as the bottoms are so up and down not to mention holes and snags for them to hide in, maybe electrofishing would have been a better option.
