First Post of hopefully many.

I'm looking at filling the freezer this year with a bait I can stick with for the next few years. This year I'm looking at fishing a water which does contain a lot of crayfish. Its about 5/6acres in size. Was suggested these baits by a friend but I'm unsure of what to go for at the moment. Just wondered if anyone has experience with them and can give honest opinions on the quality. Undecided on which one to go for at the moment, hopefully someone can help in the decision.
Thanks in advance

You'll probably end up more confused by people's replies to your question than when you started mate.

Bait wise I've used both but never really gave the b5 a real go. I did well on the shrimp and they are a good company to deal with. A few mates of mine have been on b5 for over 10 years and they always get amongst them. Both good baits so you won't go wrong with either

In terms of crayfish not sure why you was recommended these baits to avoid them, they'll pretty much be attracted by any boilie you put in front of them. More a case of finding areas were there are less of the buggers and also meshing/wrapping your hookbaits

Both been catching carp for eons mate but I've used both quite extensively and I rate the shrimp.
Neither will put crays off imo.

Thanks for the replies.
I know neither will put crayfish off. It was more because they were shellfish based and therefore have a slight similarity to what they currently feed on.

Ahhh I see mate.
The shrimp is heavy on the crustacean meal with nature identical shrimp flavour, it fooking stinks buddy. Just what you're after by the sounds of it

plus you might get the shrimp a bit cheaper than the B5, think they still have post free deals on at the moment

Don't overlook liver shellfish mate. That's also a very good bait

What's the difference between the liver shellfish and liver specials?

The liver shellfish is a blend of 2 fish meals and has a higher fish meal, protein, oil and fat content.
The liver specials is more porous has a higher bird food content has blood meal which makes is very dark and has a added liquid attractor which boosts metabolism and gives it a slightly creamy edge. The specials also have a blend of 3 fishmeals

Yes couldn't agree more. I met them for the first time at the northern show. What a couple of decent lads they are. I was told by them “ we ain't in this to be millionaires. We do it to make good bait that we can be proud of and hopefully catches our customers more fish” Fair play to them for that attitude and I think they were offering good deals, which can't be easy for a smaller company.

Thanks for all the replies.
I think ive decided to go for the shrimp. From the responses it looks like both are good baits and deciding between the two has been difficult but the shrimp has come out on top. Hopefully it will do the business for me.

I am yet to come across a water on which the shrimp hasn't worked very well on. I'm sure you'll love the stuff
