I'm after a new gas stove. I'm using a Coleman's petrol stove at the moment. But getting fed up with using the petrol one. What gas stove you guys recommend ? Years ago I use to use the Coleman's gas stove which was good but that was 20 year ago or so.
Bulin T4 gets highly recommended on here. Used one myself for years and it's good all year round with the pre heater.

So what gas would you use on it ? I.e Coleman's gas ? As I remember when the gas got cold in the winter months it would slow up

i use Coleman, turn the gas canister upside down and then let the preheater do its thing
don't turn the canister upside down until AFTER the stove is lit or fire ball!

Dont ever buy a stove that doesn't have a pre heater pipe as if you wanted to use it in the depths of winter it wont work

sorry to sound thick. but this pre heater bit on the stove .. i take it pre heats something to make the gas worm and burn better in the colder weather ?? only asking as when i had a gas stove 20 years or more ago thay just had a on of switch.

It's just part of the design you don't have to do anything to make it work. It's a feed pipe near enough to the heat to preheat the gas.

That's right. You'll notice on some stoves that there's a pipe that sits where the flames go, that pipe contains the gas

okay thanks for the info.. my old colmans stove i use to just screw the gas bottle onto the stove then turn the screw on to relise the gas and light it. was as simple as that in my day lol

Yes here is a picture of a Bulin T4 the gas goes from the cylinder thru a pipe that goes over the burner head so is preheated this turns it into gas as and the stove works at max performance so no worrys in sub zero temps

I think its probably the most popular stove due to the fact its identical to a well known tackle manufactures stove they sell at loads more money

To be fair they have sprayed theirs an attractive light grey and stuck a logo on it. Surely that's got to be worth nearly three times the price hasn't it?
