500 fishmeal
250 clo
250 lamlac
50ml fish hydro

I see this recipe recommended a lot but has anyone actually tried to roll it?
Seems like it might be very sticky and hard to roll?

Only way to find out is knock up a small 1 egg mix and try it.
Depends on the coarseness and binding ability of the CLO, some are more roller friendly than others.

I'm probably going to get it from AA Baits I've never tried there clo before.

I like that mix because I can buy it in two and a half or 5 kilo bags, makes for a nice easy mixing.

Do you think chucking 50 g per kilo of blood powder in would help it Roll?

I'd suggest the BAF one. The AA one used to be the same as the CCMoore one, which is not the best, I'm afraid.

Reduce the Lamlac to 100, and add 150 of Semolina, otherwise the mix will breakdown too quickly in the water. Semolina will help it to roll and firm it up.

I didnt end up rolling that mix but have ordered ingredients to do a similar one ive seen floating around on here

400 fishmeal
200 clo
200 semo
200 milk

Im gonna add 25g fenugreek to that and then...

50ml fish hydro
20ml squid brand fish sauce
3ml scopex

Hopefully it works!

The easiest and most economical way to avoid wasting ingredients and money I found was write down or type up and divide the 1 KG base mix individual amounts by 7.

Should give you 142 grams of mix to do a one egg mix with.

57 grams fishmeal
28.5 grams clo
28.5 grams semo
28.5 grams milk

Happy rolling

Was there a reason for Milk at 20%?
I ask because i've seen it on suppliers information as recommended up to 15% of the mix.
But i don't know if more than 15% affects the rolling or is just unnecessary to go above that inclusion.

That would be a good mix, better than the majority sold.

Ive not gone as high as 20% before, my other mixes have 15%

Im hoping the inclusion of clo which i dont normally use will help it to soak up and roll ok

I'll give it ago soon as the ingredients arrive

I'm my experience, Highish levels of milk powder 15-20% plus, can be ok.
It depends on the other ingredients in the mix, and other binders, and any additional liquid oil added that may affect rolling.
All trial and error to find what works for you.

I hope this is not viewed as bad manners on the OP's thread (if you would rather i remove it and start my own thread just let me know).

But i've knocked up a little sample batch of a Fishmeal mix and would welcome comments and perhaps suggestions if some of the ingredients could or should be substituted for something else.

The mix is:
40% Fishmeal
15% Cede Premium Canary Egg Food
15% Maize Meal
10 % Semolina
10% Soya Flour
10% Milk Powder

25g Fenugreek Powder
25g Garlic Powder
50g Paprika

35ml Belachan Liquid

I've also got a bottle of Salmon Extract Soluble Protein which could be substituted for the belachan liquid if that would be better.
Thoughts please?

Agree about the milk but would not reduce the garlic, reckon the spice mix and levels are spot on.

I dont really like maize flour, but i do use it in one of my baits as i find it makes it a little bit harder, my binders are either 225 semo 175 soya or 150 semo 150 soya 100 maize
