I am a bit old and rickety. my family just bought me a Nash tax power barrow for birthday. 900 quids worth.
oh my god. what a let down. Firstly it goes violently to the left.
BUT THE WORSE PROBLEM IS NO POWER. On the flat it seems fast. BUT as soon as you hit a hill it goes 1 ft and will not go any further. Wanted it for hills. WHAT IS THE POINT IF AN ELECTRIC BARROW WILL NOT GO UP A HILL.
I am really upset considering that in their video they fly up a steeper hill . I wonder if anyone has any ideas. HELP..

It's got to be faulty surely? There's quite a few videos of them bombing along and up hills fully loaded. Admittedly I've only had a little play with one at a show but that thing could wrench your arms out of their sockets on max power. I'd be very surprised if one foot of hill would have stopped it.
Firstly I'd ask your very kind family where it came from and arrange a replacement and perhaps message nash about it. It's a brand new product so I'm sure they'd be keen to make sure there's nothing but positive feedback on the interwebs.
Nice present. Wish someone would buy me one!!

I cant see how it powers to the left what with the motor being built inside the wheel. I have the metro Nash barrow and it has plenty of power to cope with the steep hill on one of the waters I fish. so id say it may be faulty drop Nash a mail or call.

I met another bloke on the lake yesterday whilst using his.
when using back wheels his goes violently left and has the same lack of power.
its got lots of speed but no real pulling power. he is also gutted
I am getting my one returned and decided don't want it as his is the same
big disappointment.
the promotional video on their website is a lie.

Im sure they would fully understand , just ask the shop to exchange it for the PowerPorter, I wouldn't trust the long term reliability of the nash barrow to be honest with you mate

I have not purchased nothing of Nash's since. The shop I returned it to charged me 10% restocking charge so cost me 36 quid. They then put the brolly back on sale so I got a mate to go buy it who had the same issue with it.The shop finally admitted there was a fault as it would not peg down.I have not been in Pickerings of Burslem since either

A fully loaded Power Porter does slow down quite a bit when you hit a hill but does keep going at least

I was surprised to read the Nash motor is only rated as 150 watt
I do realise the gearing has a huge part to play but be interested in what wattage the Carp porter one is ??

1st post, already contacted nash but comes on a forum to slate the new nash barrow without going back to the shop. ..slags nash customer service off...i maybe wrong but this seems like someone looking to give the nash barrow a bad name....
maybe im wrong but i wouldnt come on here without exhausting all avenues with a view of an exchange or refund.

Korda and bank tackle don't sell electric barrows though.
Makes you wonder how the likes of Crow and Peck would do if they used gear as good as yours

I did think the same but didn't mention it, I just cant see how it can pull left, unless loaded wrong.ive not used the rear wheels on mine preferring just the standard rear legs, maybe they might have something to do with it pulling to the side also. you have to put them together once bought so maybe ones tightened more than the other. as for no power up hill, if I knew how to post videos id get the ball and chain to sit on mine and film it going up the hill at my lake.and trust me she weighs more than bloody 100kilo

I can only comment on the power porter as thats what Ive got
Its brilliant as far as I'm concerned and makes life so easy .... Its a bit tricky going around tight corners sometimes as the thing just goes at the speed you set and it would be better with a lever that was a variable speed rather then adjust then push button ... No idea about the nash one but would I pay over £200 more for something thats not been proven .. ??

I was going to get the power porter but a ticket came up for a new water where the paths are to narrow for one so chose a Nash metro. I've used it now a few with no problems and so far think its a good item, expensive yes but my back is not to good nowadays so **** the cost. if it falls apart halfway through next season ill be back to angling direct to have a word, if I get no sense out of them ill be onto Nash.

this seems to be part of the problem. but its not only long term reliability I want the thing to do the job intended otherwise if it don't get up hills loads of people are going to waste money and big money on a rubbish bit of kit.i am now asking my family to get a refund, and have my eyes on another brand. thanks

regardless of a present or not,the shop will still answer your questions, you wouldnt buy a ford car, have a problem with it and email or phone ford....phone the shop and explain to them that it was a present, its not doing what it should what can you do about it....your family wouldnt want to or have intended to give you a faulty present for your 60th

My power porter pulled to one side when I first got it. Couldn't understand why at first but when I checked it over one of the back wheels was slightly longer than the other so made sure they were both set at the same height and so far so good, pulls pretty straight now

mine doesn't but then if ops does he should contact Nash.
Had mine for over a year now (yes resurrecting an old thread as was searching to see if anybody had had issues with the batteries/charger) and with fully charged batteries it flies up hills even with TWO sets of gear on it (the Metro version so not the larger one).
The issue I have had with mine is that I have just discovered that the supplied charger (not made by Nash but a generic 12v charger) has not been putting out enough current to charge the batteries when I have had them on charge.
I charge each of the batteries overnight and I have noticed that in recent sessions that power meter has dropped from Green to Red then it looked like the Green LED had "blown" as "fully charged" batteries were only lighting the Amber light instead. On my last trip the battery indicator showed just the Red LED which has made me look further into it.
I have found that the charger I was supplied with when I bought the barrow was only putting out 9v @ 0.2A instead of 10.4V @ 1A! In other words the batteries were not getting a proper charge & just a small trickle each time so were just depleting each session until they could not put out the required voltage for the motor to perform minimally.
I ordered new batteries from a local battery supplier (2 x 12v 9ah) & now the Green LED is illuminating again & back to full power.
I have just dug out my 12v "SMART" charger I bought for a leisure battery & have now put the original batteries on a PROPER charge to see if I can revive them. I have already got a replacement set of batteries coming from Nash under warranty via the dealer anyway, so if they are shot, it is no real issue.
They will then have to order me a replacement charger as well if this is the case as the one I have is not right. I suppose I could just use my "SMART" charger, but why should I when I have paid the money for the complete kit (also wouldn't look good if I was to sell it & the buyer couldn't charge the batteries!)

An old thread but this might help someone.
The most likely reason I could suggest why it's pulling to the left would be the wheel alignment.
To check you just need a straight edge held alongside the front wheel to the rear axle and measure from straight edge to the rear wheel. Do the same for the other side and it will tell you if it's correct
