I've seen quite a few posts across the forum extolling the virtues of OMC Putty. What particular properties make it so good? Is it sticky? More workable?
I use a French putty from LCA Tackle that I bought at a Brentwood show a while back but to buy it from France makes it too expensive.

I've got a tin of this and a tin of the Nash stuff. Almost certain that they are the same. Same colour, same texture and both come in the same flattened out blob in a piece of glossy white paper. They are very good.

It's very good but it's not as heavy as Dark Matter.
Even so, I have both in my TB, and if I had to have one it would be the OMC.

Rigmarole putty is the best available imho.

Why?
Why?
I have tried most over many years and it is the easiest to affix to line , stays put without the need for twists of lead core inner , etc and has sufficient weight. Thank you for your question I hope it assists you and the person who started this thread.

Honestly for stuff like silicon tube, rig tubing, tungsten rig tubing, coated hooklink material, Fluorocarbon stiff boom, crimps, hooklink braid, swivels, beads, leadcore, lead clips, tail rubbers etc. I have been buying it from Aliexpress, so much cheaper and I have found the quality to be as good as the leading brands, if not the same stuff as the leading brand, I mean most of it comes from China in the first place so it may well come from the same supplier. I stopped buying into the hype of the big companies and have definitely not looked back since. I have been using this tungsten putty and its great, pliable, sets hard, coats braid well and is super cheap in comparison to the leading brands:

Living in Toronto its hard to get hold of a lot of gear which is why I though I would give Aliexpress a try, its cheap enough that even if it isn't great you haven't really lost a lot of money if you throw it away..... but that being said I haven't had to throw any of it away yet touch wood.... I have even bought some hooks to try and although a few of them they aren't as sharp as I would like I do hand sharpen my hooks and can get them needle sharp and they are all plenty strong enough, I have done tests against the leading brands and most of them I have bought perform the same if not better than the leading brands... many of then are an exact copy of very popular patterns from the big brands too.
