Just brought some mugga hooks to use on a slip D rig as heard these are great hooks, was going to pair them with Korda kickers just to not have to use shrink tubing. But not sure if I've closed the gap to much on the hook, any advice would be much appreciated!

Muggas dont need a kicker. It's one of many good things about them

There are times or waters where even curved shank hooks need line aligners or kickers.

I was watching a group of fish at close range, eject my rig easily with a Gardner Mugga. Exactly the same hook size and pattern with a line aligner put back in the exact same spot hooked them.

use a small bit of of 0.75 or 1mm silicone instead of shrink tubing or a kicker.

Although i have in the last straightened the eye to match the curve in the shank and they use tubing to mimic the old long shank mugga.

muggas with a flouro d are lethal, the way the line angles out and kicks the hook is so aggressive

I don't like that for me personally. I don't mind a kicker but would prefer to use shrink tubing and having at a shallower angle opening up the gape and lengthening the shank.

I use the mugga for the rig Mike Holly uses and I'm yet to lose a fish on it.I use a piece of 0.75mm silicone over the eye to help stop the loop slipping
