Wait a month or so as deeper are bringing their own spreader out along with a boat pod and the new downscan module. I will be buying all 3 myself as soon as they come out.

I’m going to get one after lots of consideration over ethics, etc.
Can anyone recommend a “spreader”, one of those devices for creating a wider baited area?

Ive just returned from a 3 day trip using my deeper for the first time to fish having owned it a week or so , i was worried about the updates and issues but when i got to the lake it performed everything as it was supposed to , the app crashed a bit when playing back and editing mapping runs to mark spots etc but it was easy to use even if a bit frustrating to restart playing back scans when you try to make a mark or delete one but i was right next to a raf airbase which may have caused some drop out of signal etc. overall a very capable bit of technology considering what your asking it to do . Made it very very easy to find and fish spots . Im surprised fishery owners dont love em the amount of bait you could get htrough surprised me .

Off their faceache page.

‼️ Quest update with sonar scan quality fix is now rolling out! ‼️

Please read carefully below:

This update includes a fix for the sonar scan quality issue some users experienced after the previous release including weak sonar returns, hard bottom not showing correctly, reduced yellow colors, and other scan quality inconsistencies.

Important rollout information:

• iOS users can manually update the Fish Deeper app right now via the App Store
• Android rollout is staged and may take up to around a week to reach all users

Once you update the app, we strongly recommend updating your Quest firmware at home before your next session:

1. Connect to your Quest as usual (the boat must be out of water)

2. The firmware update process will start automatically in the app

Important: this update does NOT address Autopilot accuracy issues such as:

• Boat moving in circles
• Zig-zagging
• Inaccurate Return to Home

If you experience these issues, please perform a Magnetometer calibration – it will reliably fix the issue.

1. Place Quest on level ground outdoors, away from trees, power lines, or metal objects
2. Turn on both the boat and controller
3. Connect to Quest via Wi-Fi and open the app
4. Open Autopilot controls → tap the three dots (top right)
5. Start Magnetometer calibration
6. Rotate the boat 360° while keeping it as horizontal as possible – this is very important for proper calibration

Thank you again for your patience and feedback throughout this process.

Purchased the boat 6 weeks ago for French trips. I have owned a waverunner atom and an Anatec dl boat with a toslon 640 sounder
Took the boat to a local lake 3 times to get used to it. There is an issue with the update but it will be sorted. My decision to buy the boat was great reviews and also the updates allowing the boat to constantly improve as time goes on
Took the boat to France and yes it currently has issues but it did everything I wanted from it.
I didn't want the boat to auto drop on a spot but rather go to the spot and let me control the final positioning and drop. The boat behaved perfectly and it definitely added fish and knowledge to to my trip
I would definitely recommend to anyone even with the current update issue

Mine stopped all the time on the way to a chosen spot. Most other owners I know had that problem as well. A bit annoying but not terrible.

There was a Firmware and BIOS Update this week it seems as it loaded on the boat and remote a few days ago when I started them. Since them all problems have been sorted incl. the wrong function of the invisible button (when you wanted to go invisible (no lights on) all flaps opened - cost me 4kg of good bait....).

Plus the customer service is very good. They answer to your questions actually and try to solve problems.

I've had the deeper boat for a while. Must admit to not using it very often over here but still. Its been an excellent boat every time ive used it.

Never had a problem until the update, then took out a few weeks ago and had the zig zagging issue and it not setting home as it entered the water. So i did the calibration and it was back to working fine.

A tip is to calibrate it in an open space if possible, not around loads of trees etc next to the lake

Have you ever used another boat on the lake / spoken to other users of boats on the lake.

Some lakes particularly one I fish on has a railway line on one side and overhead power cables it causes all sorts of problems as it acts like one big faraday cage attenuating your GPS and radio gear to such a degree that you can loose connection with the boat of GPS gets so bad autopilot gets taken out also.

I don't have a deeper boat but unfortunately if your on a venue I describe it doesn't matter what boat you have..

I would always suggest calibrating the boat before using on said lake just to give your radio gear / gps best opportunity to tune to the conditions.

Hope you get it sorted mate, Deeper customer services do seem to be very good. Worth keeping the satellite bit in the back of your head, sometimes it's not the boats fault

EDIT, just looked at a few quest vids re GPS, Deeper have really simplified the process
