They also do a simpler basic kit without the digital controller with batteries from £360 if you need fork adapters Around £400, but would require a bit of fitting

If you already have batteries, kits can be bought from them or elsewhere for around £195 which are simple plug and play, or buy a kit and batteries separate. But i would recommend the lifepo4 batteries with that kit as battery level indicator is more accurate with two 12v lifepo4's in series which fully charged are around 26v compared to say a 24v lipo battery which is around 25v fully charged. It is possible to change to a different throttle and battery level indicator but that does require a slight wiring mod

The kits bought from ali express, amazon etc are quite simple to wire as the controller comes with compatible throttle which just plugs in and also the motor just plugs in to the controller connection there are various plugs etc from the controller that aren't needed and can be ignored

Depends, I’m happy to pay that but you could buy the bits yourself for £250 and then have to get it all wired up and configured. I reckon it’s up to people to decide what works for them and then go from there ……

I have a MK2 Tri porter with the UKBC 12AH conversion plus BB rear wheels and its bloody brilliant! My mate has the solar barrow and the rear wheels bent after digging in on a relatively flat stone path on its first outing rendering it unusable.

Ordered my conversion kit on a Thursday morning and was with me the next day, super simple to install so would recommend this over any other power barrow

I've literally just (this weekend) converted my Carporter MK2 to a Power barrow with one of UKBC conversion kits.

The guys at UKBC were very good replying to my emails , with questions I had about the kit, often within the hour.

I ordered late on the Friday and received my kit by courier on the Monday , so very impressive delivery time.

The kit is simple to fit , and comes with a lithium battery as standard, the charger is a little complicated if you follow the hand book, but there is a link on the instructions to a video , which makes it simple.

I'm taking it out for the first time this Monday so will see how it goes. It feels very powerful without kit loaded, and on the fastest setting you'd be literally running behind it !

I considered Solar and Nash , but decided as I have a small car and know the MK2 fits I'd stick with it, also if anything goes wrong I can easily convert it back to a push along barrow should I need to !

After having a Nash trax powered barrow and finding it seriously under powered i sold it.

I ended up buying a normal Nash Trax and got a BCUK conversion*before they scammed many* and its so much more powerful than the standard, with better long lasting batteries.

Conversion over shop bought barrow every time for me.

I have a Porter MK4 and Barrow conversion and it’s so light with lithium’s last forever and it’s so easy to install everything too.

I would say this is a good option personally

I have solar one. Wheels are crap and handles rattle a bit plus can be a bit agg getting wheel to click in and out I've found. Still happy with it though, 3 speeds , although speed 1 you would only ever use going down hill its so slow. Comes with a proper waterproof cover aswell. Battery wise can't comment. Probably worth getting some lithium ones if your a heavy user of it. Auto varied timer power off is useful also.

Need to buy a power barrow due to health issues and the 2 options I've whittled it down 2 are the following

Solar power barrow, I know the back wheels are a big issue so I'd replace those with some from barrow buddies

Alternatively buy a non powered carp porter , conversion kit from UK barrow conversions and then again back wheels from barrow buddies

Price wise there wouldn't be a massive amount of difference. Solar one would be slightly more expensive maybe up to £100 max. That's not really important, what is important is which one would be the better more powerful barrow?
