So Rishi Sunack phones Bojo, and says "Got this problem I need your advice on. We gotta pay to get this 72bn litres of sewage out of the Thames. There's a British firm that can create 1000 jobs, build a plant and turn it in to carbon neutral power station fuel for £20bn, there's a Polish firm that will dig a big hole in Poland and ship it all over there for us for £10bn... but I'm supposed to get 3 quotes."
Boris says "Oh that's an easy one old chap, my brother will start a new company and do it for £30bn"
Rishi says "Boris, that's three times what we'd have to pay the Poles!"
Boris says "Oh Rishi, you're not very good at this are you? We get the Poles to do it for £10bn and you and I go halves on the £20bn profit."
"Brilliant!' Says Rishi"
"One more thing...." says Boris, "Tell the poles to forget the hole in Poland and just dump it straight in to the Trent..... We're doing this again next year!"

In reply to Post #42 I dont get either. The Conservatives have been in power for 40 of the last
50 odd years. The newspapers are mostly right wing. All the post war socialism
Of state run business and social housing has been sold off.
What's left of centre?

In reply to Post #41 You need to ask.

In reply to Post #40 Erm... who and what exactly has gone "so far left from central" ???!!

In reply to Post #39 That's a good resource
Did a quick check of one near me, that was enough. Feeling a bit gloomy about it all in general, I've said this one the forum last year, or was it the year before,
I am powerless and I'm not going to kid myself, we've gone so far left from central there'll be a swing to the right and if you combine that historically with a depression you know what usually comes next.
But the world goes on, Carp to be caught, if they and us aren't being killed by the sewage...fgs

It makes me so angry and feel powerless.
I know multiple people who are always banging on about absolute nonsence conspiracies, i mean the reallt mental gymnastics stuff. Yet the actual things like this, with hard evidence. They aren't interested.
Every day i understand more and more how the Unibomber felt.

In reply to Post #36 I was reading about the 'lollypop' idea where it was suggested MPs wear a badge of companies they're associated with...that'll happen...not, some of them would look like pearly kings

|
Our main problem seems to stem from expecting businessmen to run
A country. Many of our MPs use being in Government as a side hustle
To further their own personal and business interests.

In reply to Post #33 There must only be a very fine line between untreated sewage and the "treated" stuff that gets tipped on farming land as fertiliser.
It's all about profit... even if it gets a very minimal treatment it is then classed as treated.
|
|
|
Raw slurry is banned according to online sources,
Untreated sewage treatment plant or septic tank waste has been banned from being spread on all agricultural land since 2005.
But, treated sewage sludge is permitted and has been for quite some time, govt website info

Won't be long before the dead are fed back to us...was it blade runner. Makes you wonder just when humans will realise they can't just keep replicating without consequences, at the moment it would appear increasing levels of depravity are acceptable....ho hum.

In reply to Post #31 You could not write this aptly put SH*T.
Sounds like an episode of Black Mirror 'fed your own sh*t'

Now the water companies are dumping untreated sewage on farmers fields as fertiliser...
I'm sure that any fertilisers that farmers buy in the use on their land must be tested to ensure they are safe to enter the human food chain.
So are any tests being done on human excrement and waste sewage (probably just untreated sewage) that is now entering the human food chain...
We know that many pharmaceutical products and diseases are still present in sewage, so why are we being fed our own sh¡t
