Hi Guys,

Hope everyone is well. Happy to answer any questions people may have. I'm Alan I've owned Clay Lakes for about 7 years now, like to think I'm approachable and will give an honest response to how its currently fishing and performing.

Each year we are fortunate enough to entertain around 65 to 75 groups (3 to 4 anglers per group) between both lakes from March to November.

I'm usually available on WhatsApp or through social media platforms and of course here too at Carp Forum.

All the best
Alan

Back from clay lakes. Fished lake 1.

I ended up with 16 carp to 40+lb

On both lakes it seemed the swims furthest from the huts did the most fish.

Facilities are very tired and run down but adequate enough, certainly in need of a refresh. However we had hot fresh water for showers every day, fridge freezer and oven/hob so cant grumble at that really.

Yes, I fished it last year with my usual mates. Total 5 of us. Facilities are really poor, did let it down. Also, the lakes are 2 1/2 ft deep for nearly all of the two Lakes, there’s small areas on the bigger lake which are around 3ft. Not sure how the larger carp actually move around it was that shallow. It’s full of carp though, I had a new PB 50lbs mirror, but was in that deeper area, all my mates struggled in the shallower areas. Vowed not to go back again, because of the facilities. Really let it down.

I also have been speaking to him, since then tho ive had feedback from a couple of anglers who have been who had a great time and caught loads! The facilities look very basic but we are going to take the gamble and go for it.
