Im looking at a change in reels. Any tell me the difference between a 1400 ci4, xtd,xtc...
What advantages are there between them??

Speedmaster 4+1 bearings but no slow oscillation
Ultegra XTD 4 + 1 bearings with super slow oscillation
Ultegra CI4 5 + 1 bearings with super slow oscillation and CI4 body & HAGANE gearing
Ultegra XTE (The new 1) 4 + 1 bearings super slow oscillation and a CI4 body & HAGANE gearing

It all comes down to budget vs longevity & weight. I have the old Ultegra XTD's which are 4 years old now and I haven't had any issues at all, but if I was buying again would probably go for the new XTE as it seems to be a good balance of all the reels listed below.

I have the ci4s but the new xte looks nice aswell so either of them for me

I previously owned the XTDs which were good reels but they did not feel as well built as the more expensive shimano.models. in addition I also had to buy the ICE washers to make the drag easier to use. Recently converted over to the ci4s and I am very impressed. They feel.much more sturdy and well made as well as being lighter thanks to the ci4 body. No need for ICE washers either.
