Exactly this, just pay the fees yourself.

95% of the time your covered but Paypal is it as good as it use to be.

Ive been stung by a forum member quiet a few years back but wasn’t a great deal and the person soon got banned.

I was going to say the same thing. If the seller wants F & F then pay the fees yourself that's what I do.
I was going to buy something on FB market place and the seller insisted on F & F but refused to let me pay the fees. I didn't think it was a scam sale until then either .... needless to say I didn't go through with the purchase.

Unless you know the person or have dealt with them in the past then you are leaving yourself open to all sorts by paying PayPal F&F or bank transfer and will have no recourse from either of you get scammed

On here is one of the safest places to buy and sell bit as it’s been mentioned before, nowhere is 100% safe

Never pay F&F unless you really, really trust them. I have no sympathy for anyone that gets scammed this way. On the flip, I personally have always paid F&F in the classifieds on here. Safest place to buy imo. If you use the forum often you see the regulars and know they're not taking the ****.

The classifieds often contain posts that rate sellers so use that as a feedback thread.

Your second question is a bit weird lol. No, your bank and paypal do not offer a service to check on the people you want to give money to.

I've bought from here and never had any issues. I get your anxiety about it but in many cases the people selling have done so many times over and get references from regular users which does give comfort. As already stated nothing is foolproof and you are always going to get the odd person trying it on but no in the main I would suggest this is much more trustworthy in general than places like Facebook

Buy from people that you collect from their address, there will always the rogue seller but buyers often are the worst for waisting time or not bothering to show up without notice. Don't remember ever having any problems on here though.

I really don't think 100 posts are a lot to be honest.
If you really wanted to scam someone its light work to create a couple of profiles and get their post count up to 100.

Once they are in the classifieds you can't tell the difference between a scammer and a trusted seller.

Would be much better having a feedback system.

You need 100 constructive posts to be able to sell on here anyhow so people will make their own minds up by then

Hello,

I want to use the classifieds soon but i have a couple of questions.

Is there some sort of feedback thread?

When using paypal as friends and family or bank transfer is there a way you can see if the seller is trusted and have used these methods before without problems?
