Was walking through liverpool street train station, not paying attention. Would much rather have been pissed though

Yes , I used the Hi S SPM Rod in 13ft !
same set up with a Emblem Spod reel armacord shock leader with whiplash braid.
with a medium Spomb (cheep Chinese version ) with particles i would easy hit 30-35 "wraps" accurately.
I never found it too heavy.

Have you used a free spirit spam rd to compare to the aviator one. I only use.edium spombs most of the time and find the freespkrt.aplomb rob/emblem spot reel combo so heavy for that

Currently using the Harrison Aviator Spod Rod in 12ft , this replaced my Free Spirit Hi S SPM Rod 13ft, both do the job as well as one another. i Also used the Harrison Trebuchet before and these rods are so much better IMO . Still none of them come close to the original Fox Warrior spod rod that is a proper tool!!

Thanks all, seems like the Harrison is the favoured one so I guess I'll wait it out.

Same here. Absolute beast that is surprisingly easy to compress and isn't a nightmare when spodding a lot at distance

Ive had shed loads of free spirit hi s and s range blanks over the years and never had one blow up on me. The only rod i had blow up on me was a 1.75 daiwa kevlar rod about 30 years ago but was probably my fault as i was using it off the pier in newquay.

The FS do have a tendency to blow up after time ,I'd go with Harrison blanks all day long

Not used the FS but the Aviator 13 is the best spod I've ever used by a mile.

Have a look at the tacklebox CF-X black edition spod rod,I have the 12ft and can put the midi spomb 120-130 quite easily. They do a 13ft which would do the distance you require and save you some money

Had the C2-D and it was amazing for distance, will be a tad cheaper than the 2 you mentioned also and most probably a better blank…

Anyone care to compare & contrast the 13 foot Harrison Aviator spod rod with the 13 foot Free spirit Hi-S SPM?
I was looking to buy the Harrison but due to availability issues I'm now looking at alternatives. This is for distance spod work (150 yards).
