Sorry Kells Fat fingers

Apparently there's a vid doing the rounds on Social media. Filmed by an Angler. Showing the aftermath of his swim after being attacked by said angler.. Apparently from what I've heard Simon can be a bit Firey. But attacking a fella angler on the bank..33 Always two sides to a story mind.. its Fishing for ****s sake..

Ive only seen a bit of it on FB but the page it is on is some Craig fella who seems to like giving 'named anglers' grief. He did it with Elliott Gray a few months back regarding sacking a carp.

Its all a bit sad and 20 years ago we would not have had any video footage or heard any whittling about it on FB.

There has been fisty cuffs in carp fishing since the beginning, it's just more out there in the public eye with social media.

Back in the 90s I was on a well known day ticket complex (heard about it in a carpworld article by Rob Hughes and Simon Crow, funnily enough).

Someone in a corner swim cast over an anglers lines who was on the next swim round the corner, so the person there complained to the bailiff who said he would go round to have a word.

Next thing, we hear some shouting and the bailiff comes back around having punched the guy saying 'that outta sort that out, but let me know if it happens again'

The whole episode is a sad indictment of modern carp fishing. Full-time anglers, thinking that they have carte blanche to fish however they want despite all their other advantages, generally speaking too many guys spending far too long on the bank instead of dealing with other things in their lives.

Well judging by some comments, Crow appears to be shrugging it off as "something and nothing" which indeed it may have been, however I would suggest the state of the bloke he had an altercation with and Crow's busted lip tell another story...

All of us have bent a rule or 2 over the years. So what its fishing .

That's not angling to me.

Breaking rules, nope, never have, never will. I go fishing to enjoy myself not to be looking over my shoulder jic someone sees I'm breaking a rule, and what does it say about me if I break the owners trust? Can a person breaking the rules take as much satisfaction from what they catch, as those that still catch withing the restrictions...well, they probably do, but I couldn't.

I would say each to their own, but I don't like cheating in any form, in life, just me, no doubt I'll get slated or black listed by those that do...oh well.

Probably all set up for social media coverage. No such thing as bad publicity.

I'm not going to comment directly on these allegations. However, I did have a disagreement with him about "Penning gate" at the time where he was criticising people for having a go at Adam. Had to point out to him that if Adam hadn't behaved the way he had, there would be nothing to talk about.......

If its true the way that it's been said to have happened, then one guy attacking another is not two guys having a punch up, its assault simple as that. It sounds to me that you would do the same based on your comments.
