Wait a month or so as deeper are bringing their own spreader out along with a boat pod and the new downscan module. I will be buying all 3 myself as soon as they come out.

I’m going to get one after lots of consideration over ethics, etc.
Can anyone recommend a “spreader”, one of those devices for creating a wider baited area?

Ive just returned from a 3 day trip using my deeper for the first time to fish having owned it a week or so , i was worried about the updates and issues but when i got to the lake it performed everything as it was supposed to , the app crashed a bit when playing back and editing mapping runs to mark spots etc but it was easy to use even if a bit frustrating to restart playing back scans when you try to make a mark or delete one but i was right next to a raf airbase which may have caused some drop out of signal etc. overall a very capable bit of technology considering what your asking it to do . Made it very very easy to find and fish spots . Im surprised fishery owners dont love em the amount of bait you could get htrough surprised me .

Off their faceache page.

‼️ Quest update with sonar scan quality fix is now rolling out! ‼️

Please read carefully below:

This update includes a fix for the sonar scan quality issue some users experienced after the previous release including weak sonar returns, hard bottom not showing correctly, reduced yellow colors, and other scan quality inconsistencies.

Important rollout information:

• iOS users can manually update the Fish Deeper app right now via the App Store
• Android rollout is staged and may take up to around a week to reach all users

Once you update the app, we strongly recommend updating your Quest firmware at home before your next session:

1. Connect to your Quest as usual (the boat must be out of water)

2. The firmware update process will start automatically in the app

Important: this update does NOT address Autopilot accuracy issues such as:

• Boat moving in circles
• Zig-zagging
• Inaccurate Return to Home

If you experience these issues, please perform a Magnetometer calibration – it will reliably fix the issue.

1. Place Quest on level ground outdoors, away from trees, power lines, or metal objects
2. Turn on both the boat and controller
3. Connect to Quest via Wi-Fi and open the app
4. Open Autopilot controls → tap the three dots (top right)
5. Start Magnetometer calibration
6. Rotate the boat 360° while keeping it as horizontal as possible – this is very important for proper calibration

Thank you again for your patience and feedback throughout this process.

Purchased the boat 6 weeks ago for French trips. I have owned a waverunner atom and an Anatec dl boat with a toslon 640 sounder
Took the boat to a local lake 3 times to get used to it. There is an issue with the update but it will be sorted. My decision to buy the boat was great reviews and also the updates allowing the boat to constantly improve as time goes on
Took the boat to France and yes it currently has issues but it did everything I wanted from it.
I didn't want the boat to auto drop on a spot but rather go to the spot and let me control the final positioning and drop. The boat behaved perfectly and it definitely added fish and knowledge to to my trip
I would definitely recommend to anyone even with the current update issue

Mine stopped all the time on the way to a chosen spot. Most other owners I know had that problem as well. A bit annoying but not terrible.

There was a Firmware and BIOS Update this week it seems as it loaded on the boat and remote a few days ago when I started them. Since them all problems have been sorted incl. the wrong function of the invisible button (when you wanted to go invisible (no lights on) all flaps opened - cost me 4kg of good bait....).

Plus the customer service is very good. They answer to your questions actually and try to solve problems.

I've had the deeper boat for a while. Must admit to not using it very often over here but still. Its been an excellent boat every time ive used it.

Never had a problem until the update, then took out a few weeks ago and had the zig zagging issue and it not setting home as it entered the water. So i did the calibration and it was back to working fine.

A tip is to calibrate it in an open space if possible, not around loads of trees etc next to the lake

Have you ever used another boat on the lake / spoken to other users of boats on the lake.

Some lakes particularly one I fish on has a railway line on one side and overhead power cables it causes all sorts of problems as it acts like one big faraday cage attenuating your GPS and radio gear to such a degree that you can loose connection with the boat of GPS gets so bad autopilot gets taken out also.

I don't have a deeper boat but unfortunately if your on a venue I describe it doesn't matter what boat you have..

I would always suggest calibrating the boat before using on said lake just to give your radio gear / gps best opportunity to tune to the conditions.

Hope you get it sorted mate, Deeper customer services do seem to be very good. Worth keeping the satellite bit in the back of your head, sometimes it's not the boats fault

EDIT, just looked at a few quest vids re GPS, Deeper have really simplified the process

Thanks for the reply but i dont know where to look for that info, it may be available but i certainly havent noticed it yet. I also spoke to customer services at deeper they asked what device i was using and i explained it was android, they suggested to drop goggle location accuracy settings on the phone which might cause issues. Im hopeful they will sort it out soon. But will have a good go myself tomorrow , put the aerial extension on and sort out the settings on my phone , recalibrate it if neccesary and it will be ok on the gps. Would have loved it to work 100 % out of the box but at least its given me a quick lesson in how it works lol .

Do you know how many satellites were available during the zig zagging, does Deeper give you that info?

Reason I ask, my old RT4 used to do that when not enough satellites were available, or when they dropped out when it was en-route, so not a boat fault as such. IIRC CL did advise a best minimum for proper use.

I bought one a week or so ago, have had issues with the gps part of the system, I feel like the boat is losing the gps signal , so when following auto pilot prompts it strugggles to pick up a strong signal and can zigzag to a waypoint instead of going directly to it. I re calibrated it and it worked better, i researched it a bit online and suggestions are leaving it to sync to satelites for a 5 minutes or so in the edge of the lake and recalibrating. Im fishing a 3 day session from tommorow so will try to sort it out at the lake. Bit disapointed But in reality it still will be a fun addition and i believe once a firmware update sorts this out or i in fact manage it myself it will be an awesome bit of kit.
At present the sonar still works fine but the area scan and gps seem a little out. I will test it during this session and reckon it will be working fine once i get some time to work it out . I havent really had enough time to get to grips with it yet but i spent an under an hour at the lake yesterday and had it working pretty well by the end of it , but phone battery stopped play lol.
If anyone knows of any other hints or tips to get them sorted please let me know as im not on facebook so cant access the information on there.

Isn't it a choice to update? If it comes with the new update in the box it should work fine, if it doesn't keep using the none updated version until it's fixed.

Sounds a lot like CL now, I was thinking this Deeper boat sounded good.

If the update wipes all previous settings, re the circling the boat may need the motors re trimming, if you can do that on the Deeper.

I had the displeasure of fishing a social at East delph last weekend

One guy there had the deeper boat and the update has basically ruined it. He was saying that his sonar wont work properly, the gps is sketchy and the boat doesn't sync to the remote properly since. He loved it before.

First it span around a bit, before randomly going in circles. Pretty funny tbh

I was thinking of buying one for myself but personally, id wait for this recent update to get fixed

Excellent bit of kit. Had it from day 1. Only reason why I got rid was purely because I didn't use it enough to justify it.

There great boat. The update has messed it up and a lot of unhappy owners
Mine seems to be OK. Goes to the saved spots. The GPS shows it at zig zag but the boats going straight
The Anchor is good and works. The home setting is not tge best idea and needs changing. I now mark that as a saved spot just rename it

bet you weren't happy.

Looking at the boat I saw all those recesses and thought they'll be a bugger to keep clean, then saw the kits on Ebay to infill them, great idea.

More than happy with mine but the buttons for the invisible mode are not working. Lost 4kg of bait because of that because if you press the invisible button in the app it opens all flaps. Guess my face when I wanted to be stealthy and 15m from the bank all the flaps opened.

Wrote them but they havent fixed it yet. None of the icons/Buttons can be changed, not even in the specific menu for that.

You can still go invisible when you press the A Button on the remote.

Reading hardness correctly is unfortunately a limitation of the technology as it's constantly tilting or bobbing about when on a bait boat.

Yeah you get better on garmin or lowrance but that s because they are attached to the hull of a proper boat

Not quite true the sonar is off no matter what ( Hardness), as is the band along the top. User error is not causing that.

Yep user error.
Tbh for folk who find delkims complicated I wouldn't recommend one.

Caused issues for people who havent done the update or calibrated the boat at home rather than on the bank. The people i know who updated the app as deeper said have had no issues so user error.

Had a lot of boats over the years.

The quest is defo right up there in terms of reliability which is most important and usability. Very easy once you are all set up.

I'll DM a link — if you are after one. Got mine from here

I can only praise the boat. Fairly easy to use and well thought out and so far been 100% reliable over past 10 months.

Deeper are very responsive to questions. Recent software update done to add features and mine is spot on but a few people have had various issues (some due to not following the instructions that were issued!!!!!)

The fact the boat is modular and they are already bringing out extra stuff regularly to enhance the boat it's probably the best value for a top range boat on the market

Treat yourself you are worth it
