In reply to Post #56 I've had to delete a few post on here as advised that it could be used as threatening behavior. That creature and anyone wrapped around this BCUK outfit are complete scummy mugs that will be caught up with at some point.
What grips me is that an old boy on the syndicate was waiting for a conversion, had a dodgy back from grafting on sites all his life. His grand-kids saved up and bought one as a present, that wont be turning up now as that mug and his disciples have ran into the sunset with the money. Bunch of dirty wronguns, all of em.

In reply to Post #48 I can understand your anger and i would feel the same, but it might not be the best idea saying what you saying on a social media platform,….it could be used as evidence, if the worst come to the worst

Anyone know much info about ‘The Barrowman’ is this just a coincidence that a new companies started up on the back of Bcuk folding or an actual genuine person? There isn’t that much info i can see on the site with pictures etc or where the companies based - Thanks in advance.

All those people that bought his barrow with a lifelong guarantee. Their guarantee has just ended
|
|
|
|
In reply to Post #43 He has obviously been getting away with this for years, taking peoples money and then dissolving the company etc
This time though - he has done it to people that will not let him dance off into the sunset with their money. All the names of the directors and addresses have been clocked on Companies House.
The knock on his front door is inevitable.

Apparently already started up a youtube channel for his new equine barrow company. Don't know how the guy sleeps at night.

For 12 months or more this clown and his company have been taking the piss. Nailed on to go under at any moment.
So can someone explain why people were still paying over their hard earned right up till the last minute?
Not like it's a secret is it? Posts on every type of social media going for months now, if you've been burned you only have yourself to blame.
This type of thing only goes to show how easy it is to mug off a Carp angler, no prizes for guessing why it's so easy.

In reply to Post #36 Mate - are you being straight up. I know guys that have shelled out with this firm and waiting for gear, there decent blokes that don't suffer fools lightly. That Mitch Plowman bloke needs to sort this out as i can tell you now, he will have massive problems with some of the guys that he has mugged off that already has his address in Dorking and will be traveliing down to get their coin back. We are talking a lot of money here.
What a feckin chancer that bloke is.

In reply to Post #39 Apols but this was an obvious example of major cash flow / supplier issues from the outset - a timebomb waiting to happen. Feel sorry for all those that took the risk as the marketing and product itself looked good . . .

I feel lucky now as I only ordered handles and actually got them. To think that so and so called my wife a liar on the phone
I just hope people who have outstanding orders get their money back, one way or the other, banks etc.

In reply to Post #37 Yes 100%
Depending which bank your with you could do it online
I posted earlier I done this not so long ago when the company went into receivership I contacted my bank via online filled in a few questions and within 1 hour I got my money back 👍

What do we do here, only £165 out, I imagine others a lot more, contact my bank?

It’s true, he’s ran away and the company is no more. Within 45 days it’ll be liquidated.
The shop is completely empty and the scamming c**t is selling off equipment on marketplace.
As has already been said, he’s starting up again doing wheelbarrow conversions and you can bet your bottom dollar these are the same wheels, wheels purchased using customers money of which they never receive.
100’s and 100’s of people left in the lurch and it’ll be a race to claim money back now
|
|
|

In reply to Post #34 Jeez, if true they've folded I feel really sorry for those left in the lurch

In reply to Post #33 Someone else posted the other day that Mitch Plowman has a history of folding companies then setting back up in another name. Apparently this time he’s going to start up again doing ordinary garden barrow conversions.
Looks like he runs alll his companies the same way. Can’t be arsed with his customers, provides an awful service to most then shuts up shop when word gets out.
|
|
|
|
Looks like BCUK are folding just seen on the FB barrow conversions site.
Don't know how true that is though as whoever posted it says it's a mate of a mate that's said it, he fishes with the owner and by all accounts he's let slip he's packing it in, kit up for sale on selling sites etc...

In reply to Post #31 Personally I put my own together using Ali Express I did get a set of rear wheels from BCUK took a little while to be delivered comms was ok this was about 18 months ago and at the time Mitch was moving to larger premises.

In reply to Post #1 Can't comment on the BCUK version but read lots of bad press about their lead times and communication.
I bought the Global kit about 18 months ago and its been brilliant plus their customer service was spot on.

In reply to Post #17 Yet Brexit has been dreadful for the UK and that you can’t deny. It has caused issues with obtaining equipment from the EU. As for electronics there is a world wide shortage of semi conductors.

In reply to Post #27 Yeah, I mean for years I’ve pushed my barrow by hand, thanks to keeping fit and strong. But recently I hurt my back pushing it in the mud after all the rain we had not long back, so I needed something ASAP,
I did consider the carp Porter kit for a while, but most of the people I know who have them think they’re ****, some have even converted their existing power porters to a BCUK or Global wheel!
|
|
|
|
In reply to Post #26 Why would you wait months for something that is essentially the same as another????
It’s not impatience…..
|
|
|
|
In reply to Post #25 This might upset a few people but we live in an instant age everyone wants everything yesterday and with the aforementioned supply issues it’s just not feasible anymore
|
|
|
|
To be honest, I spoke to BCUK before Global. They (BCUK) said the waiting list was around 3 months right away, so I called Global instead.
So BCUK were up front and honest with me, they were my first choice - but my back can't take pushing a loaded big-boy around Horton Church and K1 for 3 more months. So I just wanted something that worked, without getting ripped off by carp porter who want £850 for a wheel and motor....

In reply to Post #11 Actually no covid is the culprit here, China make the vast majority of electronics components there is a global shortage
|
|
|

Maybe add a little balance here
I brought mine from BCUK primarily because of the better (safer) battery options and the quality of the connectors (my opinion as I am quite heavy handed)
Quality of the kit is first class and it's a revelation weight wise compared to my old Power Porter.
I was told from the outset that it would take 8 weeks and I was happy to wait.
To be fair the time did slip by about 3 weeks and I was a little irritated but nothing to get wildly upset about.
I suspect all the Carpology articles together with moving etc....contributed to the delays but you can't argue that they shouldn't have happened
I never had an issue with them returning calls or responding to Facebook messages and I'm a bit confused about the Facebook thing as they are still up and running.
There you go a happy BCUK customer for a change !!

In reply to Post #19 Agree with this
Global is the only one to use if you want top service and products

In reply to Post #6 Like some Craig David song
I spoke with Global on the Monday regards my nervousness getting the right one and ease of fitting.
Web ordered whilst on the phone.
Delivered Wednesday.
Fitted and used at the weekend.
Had a couple of queries, sorted out with no fuss. Polite and absolutely brilliant service. I did some research on here and with a couple of mates who used Global - they acted like salesmen the service and product is that good.
I now bang the drum for them and can’t believe anyone would go elsewhere - if you want confidence pick up the phone and chat to Global.
Brilliant bit of kit, with the best service I have seen in angling.

In reply to Post #17 Indeed in the industry we called it chipageddon, the reliance on pretty much one fab called TSMC in Taiwan, the raw materials to make the wafers, lots of Asian countries for packaging and testing the chips and 80% of the worlds neon supplies (for etching) come from Ukraine, affected by Covid the war in Ukraine.
Things are getting better due to the consumer slowdown and capacity constraints easing, though it will probably take till second half of this year to return to normal, though if China sides with Russia then all bets are off…

In reply to Post #13 An updated forecast
A growing number of car dealers are reporting rapidly improving new car supply as manufacturers begin to put up targets.
Car Dealer has heard from a cross section of motor trade bosses who have explained manufacturers are telling them new car production is dramatically improving – and faster than predicted.
Peter Smyth, Swansway Motor Group boss, told Car Dealer that he was ‘surprised’ at the swing in new car supply he is seeing with his franchises.
Swansway operates dealerships for Audi, VW, Jaguar Land Rover, Peugeot, Seat and Honda.
He said: ‘Audi has told us that from quarter two supply will be back to normal. There is a surprising amount of stock around and a lot more than I thought there was going to be.’
He added that Land Rover supply was also improving and that Honda looked set to be getting better in the second half of the year.
‘From quarter three, most manufacturers look like they will be back to normal from what we are seeing,’ he added.
Car manufacturers have been battling severe disruptions over the last two years, first with Covid hitting production and then parts supply problems.
The well documented semiconductor shortage caused major delays for car makers which they struggled to battle back from last year.
This has led to long waiting times with many new car buyers holding on for more than a year for their new car.

In reply to Post #12 Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good Brexit slating though..
Can’t be bothered to hunt so just
Inked this one of many stories in loads of different areas
In the car industry
As anyone who has looked at buying a new car recently will know, lead times in many cases are far longer than they normally would be. Just as Covid restrictions wound down, allowing pent-up consumer demand to be unleashed, a global shortage of semiconductors - along with other supply chain issues, not least because of the war in Ukraine - throttled manufacturers' ability to build new cars.
For buyers who are in a hurry to get their hands on a car, this situation has made pre-registered and second-hand models more appealing, resulting in inflated prices across classified sites and dealer forecourts.

Best-selling cars 2023: the UK’s top 10 most popular models
That said, it's not impossible to buy a brand-new car, particularly if you're not too fussy about make or model and willing to wait a while for delivery.
The situation with new car lead times is fluid and some brands simply can't provide specific estimates, but we've rung round every major manufacturer to get as much information as possible. Read on to find out how long you'll wait for a new car...
New car delivery times in the UK
Here's what the top car brands told us when we quizzed them in October 2022 about the waiting time buyers can expect on their latest models...
Alpine
Alpine makes just one car - the A110. The Renault subsidiary told us that buyers of this sports car can expect to wait up to six months.
Alfa Romeo
Most of the Alfa Romeo range is currently subject to a lead time of between four and six months. Giulia buyers will have to wait between four and seven months, however, with all customers advised to consult their dealer for more information.
Audi
Audi has said its lead time situation is changing on a frequent basis, with lead times for individual models impossible to pin down. The German firm is working hard to find ways around the problem and advises customers to contact their dealer if a delayed delivery is causing issues for them.
BMW
BMW i45
BMW has an average lead time of around four months, but this varies depending on model and retailer. The four-month average takes into account a transit time of between two and eight weeks for some models. The brand also warned of exceptionally strong demand for plug-in hybrid and electric models, which means longer lead times for these in many cases.
Cupra
Cupra says that it is “working hard to find solutions to supply chain issues”, but recommends customers speak to their dealer for specific production and delivery timings.
Citroen
Citroen currently has lead times of between two and four months. Its bigger-selling electric and plug-in hybrid models - the e-C4, C5 Aircross Plug-in Hybrid and C5 X Plug-in Hybrid - are included and all available for delivery by the end of March 2023 if ordered now. Again, the French firm advises that customer queries should be directed to dealers.
Dacia
Dacia Jogger - full front5
Dacia says all of its models are subject to production delays, but the length will depend on the specification of each vehicle. A spokesman said customers can typically wait up to six months.
DS
With the exception of DS 9, which has lead times of up to six months, customers can expect to wait between two and four months for most other DS models. Customers are being asked to speak to their dealer for more specific information.
Fiat/Abarth
Most Fiat and Abarth models are currently on a five-month lead time for factory orders. Dealers can offer more precise information about models-specific wait times and what cars are available from new stock.
Ford
Ford told us that its wait times are varying widely at present. Buyers can expect to wait three months for an EcoSport, five months for a Puma or Focus and six months for a Kuga, S-Max or Galaxy. It’s expected to take seven months for a an electric Mustang Mach-E,

Right chaps I would like to point out one thing. I work in a medical electronics factory, we are close to another factory that make the conversions for carp porter. I can tell you for 100% fact component issues are plaguing electronics industry’s across all sub types, we bill £40k for one unit we do 50 a month as they are incredibly complex machines that test blood for various things ranging from covid antibodies, cancer markers and all sorts we haven’t been able to make any for 2 months despite backing onto Felixstowe docks there is a global shortage of various components i Guarentee that’s what’s happening.
However they should be open and honest with their customers if there are extended wait times it’s only fair so a poor show in that regard

BCUK have been getting savaged on Facebook for a while. We are talking about the sort of piss poor service you’d expect from British Gas, not an angling business. I saw a few posts where I’m assuming the owner was starting to get a bit narky in replies to people’s complaints. That was enough for me to decide to go elsewhere. My feeling was if they are this bad with people who are trying to buy their products can you imagine what a s@@Tshow it would be trying to get a repair or a warranty job. No thanks.
I’ve got my Carpy Cartz kit coming on Wednesday. They are local to me and they’ve answered every message I’ve sent them in a couple of hours if not straight away.

In reply to Post #1 I upgraded my Carp porter myself with the Global Angling kit, unbelievably easy to do.
Had Zero issues so really nothing more to say, made my life easier that’s for sure, keep a ramp in the back of my defender and wheel it straight in/out loaded and ready to go.
Top bit of kit.

I took my Carp Porter Big Boy down to Global Angling, and they fitted the whole thing for me whilst I was there, also sorted me out some higher handlebars,
been driving it around with zero issues, it's made life a hell of a lot easier - getting to the swim, moving or going home is no longer filled with dread :D

the 3 company's that do them all work Global Angling... Carpy Cartz ,and BCUK
BUT !! I went with the one thats got the most experience WELL OVER 10 YEARS of making conversions so that alone speaks volumes IMO
will deliver in 2 weeks sometimes faster
back up if needed instant not heard a single bad word pick the phone up and get instant help and no broken promises
GLOBAL ANGLING has to be the daddy

In reply to Post #1 a couple of pals have had conversions last yr and been v pleased with the product.
I'm about to order this week, spoke to them a couple of times and had some good impartial advice.

|
|
In reply to Post #1 I received my BCUK conversion a couple of weeks ago,I ordered it 6 months ago.
After speaking with them I know they’ve been inundated with work to the point they’ve had to move premises etc etc.In my honest opinion they should give people a more realistic idea of wait time before they place there orders.
I wouldn’t bother emailing them I’d phone them tbh.
Don’t get me wrong I get where your coming from I was fed up waiting and thats putting it mildly.on a plus note the quality is excellent,as with all these type of products I guess it’s how long the motor/ components last.I’m not going to comment on that until it’s had a lot of use.
I can’t comment on other conversion companies as I’ve not owned there products.
Hopefully you get sorted one way or the other.

Plus one for global angling
Sent an email 2/1/2023 ( Bank holiday) at approx 21.30 about width of stubs on my barrow
Got a reply 20mins later from Matthew with an explanation and what to do.
Ordered following morning and turned in a couple of days later
Had a problem with battery not fully charging and that issue was sorted out in no time
I would highly recommend
