Just thought I'd let you know of my experience of this POD.
On the face of it looked a bargain and had a few people admiring it as it looks a nice piece of kit, but the draw back was it didn't last long. (10 months)
The plus's: Very versatile and nice spacing for the rods.
Light to carry an a couple of minutes and its up.
Price: you have to pay 2 or 3 times the price of this for something like this of quality materials.
Cons,
Regular heavy handed use and it doesn't last long.
I am admittedly heavy handed and like my pod in the ground slightly rather than sat on top, especially with these light aluminium pod's, so regularly used my weight to gently stand on the back of or front bottom sections so it had some bite in the ground so to speak.
Although the uprights look like one solid piece, they are not, each section is held in by a hard plastic moulding and once they have come out of the cross section are end of life, ie no going back, so for me, if you are careful with it it's a good buy, if like me you are heavy handed then it's not going to last long.
Would I buy again, defiantly no.

I use the same pod and agree all your pluses but I'm intrigued, why did you want to dig it in?

Hi Carew,
I use the magnetic Butt rests, if you just walk up and grab a rod off the POD the whole thing moves, unless your careful.
This isnt a fault , its because its light, yes if I was careful and lifted the rod so the front came up first to break contact with the magnets it probably wouldnt be an issue.

Would have probably been better to peg it down if possible? Think there is a pod with a tethering point, but can't remember which one it is, maybe a Century one?

yes i went through the tethering down stage but its a faff, so on the softer ground pegs just stud on the front and back cross pieces, I didnt expect the threaded bits to just be held in by moulded plastic, thought they would be more of a solid construction.
I have since moved on to a stainless steel POD and dont have any of these issues, like i say in the review, I am heavy handed, I probably should have gone for the stainless from day one.
Shame I bined it, I should have photo'ed it, I think some might be surprised at the plastic thread retainer.

Had this happen to me a couple of days ago, never occurred to me it could be from standing on the cross piece. Usually use a small drill and peg it down but got lazy. Emailed nd with pictures to buy the part and waiting for an answer. Hope they do parts for it.
