Don't think so. I was using the s2 cc on another rod at the same time & that came back ok.

I'm no bait expert but try leaving a couple on a widow sill for a day to dry out and harden a little bit more see if that helps.

Crayfish seem to be well in to the gpb2s. Whittled my CCs down in a few hours!

I've had a bit of problem with roach eating mine down to next to nothing a couple times, funny enough though it only happens in one peg in the lake I fish, every other swim it's fine but this one after about 4/5 hrs it's all but gone. I no it's packs of small roach because I've watched them attacking it in the margins very strange it don't happen elsewhere on the lake though

I reckon this is the problem I had last week, lake is full of tiddlers. Maybe time to invest in to armamesh or similar. The s2 next to it worked though.

Hi mate, is your lake weedy now? The GPB2 do go soft as previously warned, but I have never reeled one in incomplete. One situation where cork balls struggle is after they have been out all night, once they are soft, reeling them in through weed strands will cause the paste to be pulled off.

So many times I've had anglers who have used cork balls all Winter and all Spring on their lake, but cannot understand why they start reeling in bare cork balls at the start of Summer. It is simply because the bait has been reeled in through weed which acts to rip the soft outer from the cork ball. This is likely what is happening with your GPB2.

Either that or silvers, or even eels. The trouble with having so much pre digested in the bait, is that not only carp find them irresistible, but everything else does as well. Small roach will be observed like Piranhas around a GPB2.

We can easily harden them up a touch, but this will involve making them less irresistible to all fish. That is the bottom line in reality. I am really loathe to do that, as anglers are catching such crazy amounts of fish on them.

Getting high quality cork balls that are cut from one lump of cork has become a real problem since this bloke died mate. Glued together cork balls are no problem, loads about (tiny lumps set in resin), but these are terrible quality/buoyancy... And full of horrible glue.

The S3 CC are much better anyway...

No weed, it can only be the other fish I reckon.

I mesh my GPB2's in tights, and found it works well, and no difference in catch rate between the two. I use a large hairstop too. The lake I currently fish is full of silvers.
