Well done Greg! That's a pukka photo in the winter fog. GPB2 as well 🥳
All I told Greg to do was cut the top quarter off of one of our 16mm crushed corks with a serrated sharp knife. To fish them flat side up on a suitable pop up rig. To fish them over half baits. This has always been a proper edge. Carp only see round pop ups. A round pop up in a carp's mouth, is incredibly easy for them to deal with. Putting a flat edge on a pop up makes the mechanics of any rig work so much better. Pressured carp will often pick up halved baits with gusto, even when they are slightly wary of round balls. When a flat sided bait is on the rig... When they try to spit it out, it flies at weird angles in their mouth, unlike a round ball which flies out of their mouth in a straight line. One will get you far more bites. It's not the round ball either.
All of our 16/17mm crushed corks are suitable to do this with. They will still hold up a big hook forever. I'd much rather trim a 16mm flat than use a 13mm personally.
Well done Greg 🥳

what size hooks are you using for the balanced baits?? I've made a couple of rigs tonight,slip-d size 6 gardner mugga and the balanced baits are sitting like a pop up,ive tried trimming them down but they'e having to be whittled right down to get then balanced

As Jim said a small bit of lead wire from inside lead core, a couple of tuns around the shank and trim to perfectly balance. We have to make them buoyant enough for a range of hook sizes from 2 up.
Also though, the base mix has zero buoyancy, it's food, not pop up mix. Hacking away at that will only make them even more buoyant. Trim visible lumps of cork that you can see from the outside. This will also reduce the buoyancy for you mate.

Rapid Greg. Where we cleared all of our Christmas orders yesterday, anything ordered today/tomorrow will be going out on our next delivery, which is Monday.
As before... Order 16mm GPB1 cc from our website, to cover what you need in GPB2... Text message or WhatsApp me on our work mobile as soon as you have done it, with the full name on the order, and what you actually require in GPB2. Anything else on the same order will come as normal.
We have loads of everything including GPB2 in stock, we have those in 13/16mm pop ups & 13/16mm balanced.
