If I were Ukrainian I'd have left before, or certainly at the start of the current conflict.
What will all those women and children have to come back to when the soldiers/armed civilians are all dead and the schools, hospitals, homes and infrastructure are all obliterated?
I'm not sure what the difference is between watching Ukrainian people be slaughtered and nuking the living **** out of Russia to hopefully kill Putin at the cost of Russian civilian lives.
As I've said I don't know enough to comment on finer details but resistance seems pretty futile tbh. The option was there to walk away with nothing but their lives, instead they stand to lose everything but their pride.. which is no good when you're 6 feet under the ground

But they arent necessarily fighting for their lives, they are fighting for their way of life, fighting for their children and their children children, they know what itll be like if the Russians gain control, you only have to look at the protests in russia to know what itll be like, literally everyone is bearing arms from the president to the standard citizen.

Nothing to do with NATO and nothing to do with nukes. Just a little reminder to all those that want to try and defend a Russian government that is currently killing innocent people.

I'm guessing though that now COVID hasn't really produced the outcome you were expecting this is now the next conspiracy.......

I get it. But what happens when it finally settles and the entire country is still armed?
Sorry, arming civilians and inviting people to fight is not for me.

I think you might be overestimating the average brit there...

I'd expect most to start complaining that it was an infringement of their human rights to be expected to fight for their country and 'what about the long term effects?' And 'mental health' and 'it's not my problem ' and .....

Or am I being cynical?

Taken from my linked article of Putin's Empire of Lies speech

"I will begin with what I said in my address on February 21, 2022. I spoke about our biggest concerns and worries, and about the fundamental threats which irresponsible Western politicians created for Russia consistently, rudely and unceremoniously from year to year. I am referring to the eastward expansion of NATO, which is moving its military infrastructure ever closer to the Russian border.

It is a fact that over the past 30 years we have been patiently trying to come to an agreement with the leading NATO countries regarding the principles of equal and indivisible security in Europe. In response to our proposals, we invariably faced either cynical deception and lies or attempts at pressure and blackmail, while the North Atlantic alliance continued to expand despite our protests and concerns. Its military machine is moving and, as I said, is approaching our very border.

Why is this happening? Where did this insolent manner of talking down from the height of their exceptionalism, infallibility and all-permissiveness come from? What is the explanation for this contemptuous and disdainful attitude to our interests and absolutely legitimate demands?"

Ukraine to become a neutral country would be the best outcom for everyone.

Unfortunately, despite the current peace talks going on, I've seen news that the leader of Ukraine has just signed the paperwork asking to join the EU. If these news reports turn out to be true, this could turn in to a real sh4tshow, not like it isn't already.

I think it was a mistake of Putin to invade Ukraine, although, I can see why he and his cabinet gave it the green light. As I've said before and will continue to do so, all of this could have been avoided if Western powers would have taken Russian concerns into account and acted positively and constructively to resolve Russian serious agitations.

It's not up to Putin to decide other countries foreign policies, and certainly not an all out war with a country that doesn't agree with his agenda, regardless what he has said about Nato and the US, what he is doing now is inexcusable

It's a bit more complicated than what you allude to. Take for instance the pro Russian leader of Ukraine that was ousted by America essentially and installed their current puppet and the likes within the Ukrainian Government, I mean, in 2014 when the pro Russian bloke got toppled, an American was put in charge (non Ukrainian decent) of Ukrainian finance - Natalie Jaresko. Ukraine is being played by America.

I'll not justify what Putin has done, although I can grasp why he has acted as he has. You've also got to consider that Ukraine is the birth place of the Slavic people and was the capital of the greater Russia before the capital was moved to Moscow. 50% of the people speak Russian.

Again, as I've already alluded to, how would England and the powers that run England react if pro Russian forces were rocked up in Wales?

Edited to add: when America and it's "allies" - the later read as pawns - invaded Iraq despite no UN resolution to do so, where was the united condemnation, the sanctions, the limiting of flight paths, the same with Afghanistan, Syria, Libya...you name it?

Correction: Ukrainian finance minister in 2014 wasn't Janet Newland, it was in fact Natalie Jaresko.

Yeah. Me, you, noj and tazi's builders

You can do the fighting. I'll do hair and make up. Noj is on public relations and tazi's builders are on the new infrastructure project after we get beat. That'll teach them.

But hes complaining about having Nato missiles on his doorstep, but yet invades a country which borders Poland, which has Nato missiles, it's very odd logic dont you think?
Are you sure?
